16 trades used and four rookies on the field is a real worry. Should all be gone by now. I wouldn't trade for a month or two.

Yeah i know, but i am a rookie myself, so i have learnt alot from this season!

My team isn't scoring too badly and i am still winning my matches so i think, i'll sit on my trades just incase of injuries.

Not having ablett hurts any team i think!

Yeah i counted 3 too, pretty sure Ellis isn't a Rookie, although he's been playing like a really crap one.
He wasn't technically a SuperCoach rookie, but close enough. Picked only because he was cheap.

Reiwoldt is only playing 1 or 2 teams in the next 10 rounds that defensively has the manpower to stop him;

Freo
Roos
Carl
Hawks
Eagles
Port
Coll
Freo again
Adelaide
Essendon

Pretty much 1 top 8 team.(Dont rate Coll). Can only really see him being held to a fairly low score against adelaide and maybe Carlton (Waite does well on him).

Porps has maybe 2 or 3 games against genuine defensively sound sides, but his ability to go into the midfield makes him that much better of a propisition!

Bris
Geelong
Coll
Port
Syd
Carl
Rich
Ess
Saints
Dogs

F___...you can choose. :D

Its hard to go past Porps, very consistant - even through the string of games where he had that injury. Thought he wasn't capable of getting big 100 games but that was proven wrong last week.
Riewoldt still seems a wait and see proposition despite a decent game last week... would want to see him back it up next week at the very least.

Who should I start?

Armfield or Myers

Geez I'm really getting sick of H.Shaw to the stage where I hope my opponent has H.Shaw....Normally, when I have H.Shaw I think it's an advantage but now..geeezz..

Last week H.Shaw first possession got 12pts...and I'm thinking....He is back....then he scores 30ish...LOL

I'm getting sick of Kornes as well, thinking of starting Cotchin, but knowing my luck, he'll come back with a 140s...

This is just totally doing my head in. I'm going insane. Luckily exams are finished and I'm not sacrificing study time...

I've said it in the trades thread, but I just need to say it again. I'm upgrading both Houli and Palmer in the next two weeks, and I have multiple options:

I can get Ablett (averaging 158 over last 6 weeks) + anyone up to 542k. The best mids for the latter would be Harvey (479k, averaging 90.5 in the last 6 weeks) and Goodwin (534k, averaging 104 in the last 6 weeks). Bartel is also an option. So the best I could get out of this would be a combined average of 262, with an obvious captain choice, but I'd probably go with Harvey - so that's 248.5.

Or, I can get ANY two midfielders except for Ablett. With which I would be leaning towards Cooney as one of the two, and I already have Goodes. Cooney is averaging 135 of the last 6 weeks. The partner for Cooney would be one of Thompson (122), Hodge (118), Black (115), Kirk (123) or Judd (112). So that would give me an total in the range of 247-258, and I'm leaning towards Kirk to be honest, because it's a more original choice.

Absolutely doing me head in. I really want Ablett, but Harvey is such a worry. As is the recent form of the likes of Goodwin and Bartel.

brent harvey, dal santo or Bartel. is dal worth 70k more than harvey, considering harveys overall is more, Bartel was pencilled in till last week??????
Thoughts?

Not sure whether this is a good point or bad, but I reckon Goodwin will get more time in the middle of the ground as the rooikes/younger players tire in the second half of the year. They also have a tough run with 5 of the top 8 plus Port in the nest 6 games or something like that.

Remember Harvey got knocked out 3 games abck and it may take a while to recover. North have also been woeful in the last month, so hopefully it can only get better for them, but even as a proud shinboner I can't see any silver lining for the second half for us this year....Anyone a Tank driver?

Personally I would go for Ablett and Goodwin.

Rnd 21 = Ablett V NM @ K Park:thumbsu:
Rnd 22 = Ablett V WC @ K Park :thumbsu::thumbsu:

At rough calculations its about a MILLION points on offer!!:eek:

If you make the prelim final this will either win it for you (if you have him) or lose it for you (if your opposition does)

BACKS: Shaw, Cornes, Gilbee, Newman, Ibbottson, SDT (Myers & Proud)
MIDS: Ablett, Bartel, Dal Santo, Kornes, Stevens, Palmer (Wellingham & Cotchin)
RUCKS: Cox, Simmonds (Hampson & Renouf)
FORWARDS: J Brown, Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, ROK, S Johnson, Rioli (Reimers & N Thompson)

* 7 trades, $20k in bank.
I figure with only 7 trades and bugger all cash, I have 2 upgrades left, requiring 4 trades. I'd love a downgrade that would me some serious coin, and am thinking very seriously about Cox>>rookie, then Myers>>gun (with coin left over to turn Palmer/Rioli into a gun). If I move on Cox, it should be this week, I reckon he's done (maybe), and has a b/e of 195 and will drop nearly $40k.
Is Cox to a rookie a stupid move? If so, what would you do with the above team?

That's an angle I didn't consider. You've convinced me. Now I just have to work out who to get as his partner. Harvey / Goodwin / Bartel / Cross.

Or I can take a risk, hope Ablett scores around 100, Black scores sub-100, and SD Thompson scores 80+.... then I can get Black and Ablett. :D
