Ay fellas jst a quick questiion,

im going into a comp with mate, its on 2nites game....

COMP= Pick a player from both Ess and WB who u think will score the most SC points...the 2 scores are added together, the person who has the hihest score total wins.

Who are your thoughts?
ESS- Hill (no lucas or lloyd, may hav 2 kick a few goals), McViegh (has been scoring pretty high in SC of late), Fletcher (ball will be down his end alot i wuld say), Stanton (is it his game to shine?)

WB- Johno (had a couple quiet 1s previous 2), Gilbee (will suit running game), Murphy (tends to play well against ESS), Cross (100+ SC anytime)

Theres so much variety, help wuld be appreciated. cheers

My backline looks like this: Cornes,Shaw,Gilbee,Johncock, Symes,Barlow,Proud (Hansen, Thompson)

For thsi round I wouldn't have a 7th backman. What should I do?

How will Taylor or Selwood fair??

McVeigh and Cross are the two I would take.

They will both be in and out of their respective teams all year, taylor will play probably 2-3 weeks and then struggle 2 get back in whereas selwood will be more frequently used but with more games off.

keep who you have, in the end ur 3 rookies will play enough games this year 2 shoot up in price, jst means u will hav cash cows to use later in the season once u hav used ur mids and fwds.

dont waste a trade on this 1! i know its the first game of the ladder season, but there are 13 after b4 finals, if u manage a team well, u can always be a chance of finals.

PS CAN ANY1 PLZ GIV ME A HAND WITH MY LITTLE COMP I ENTERED, A FEW POSTS BACK, CHEERs

Some possibilities are:
Thompson to Selwood, Proud emg with Nico on the feild. You should scrap through.

Nico & Proud with pfeiffer emg and you cop a zero possibly two.

Downgrade Nicoski to Brown upgrade Thompson to Barlow and you shouldn't have a problem for the rest of the season.

Makes me disappointed that I dropped Barlow for Nicoski...should have followed my instincts...bugger!!!

Pride (and stupidity) will stop me from getting Barlow...hehehe....

Titanic (don't look back)...hehehe

Anyone have any thoughts on Michael Osborne? Ive got Ellis in my backline was considering trading him for Osborne, but im not convinced his place in the side is any more certain than Ellis's.

I have 389k to spend and really want to get rid of him, unfortunately the choices to trade him for are slim. or should i just stick with Ellis?

Ellis' salary is still tracking upwards.

Provided he gets a game this week, there is no need to otrade him off just yet...

Need some thoughts from the wise men such as Walsey :)mad:), SJ, Big Man, DanA, etc etc. Actually need some thoughts from everyone really.

Firstly in Bowden is named in the 22 today and named on the field can he still be 'dropped'. I assumed he can be but I read somewhere there would be a fine. Not that it matters. Anyway.

Can't afford to play with a 0. I have question marks over Cox and Bowden with no playing emergencies in the back or rucks.

I'm using one trade to get Palmer in this week.

First question, do i backup Coxy or Bowden?

If Coxy I'll get Kreuzer in for Meeson.

If Bowden then the way I see it there are only two real options, being Taylor and N.J.Brown. I should have picked up Brown last week and didn't, however I'm not too worried about the extra 50k. He will definately play unless injured. Taylor on the other hand could get dropped as early as next week. I don't really like the look of Selwood or Woemerri.

Argh.

I would recommend backing up for bowden for two reasons.

Firstly Cox is more likley to play then bowden. Hutchy is usually fairly good with his whispers, so if he says bowden wont play there is a fair chance he wont play. West Coast on the other hand have a history of playing injured players (think judd for the last half of last year). I think they will give him a jab and see how he goes this week.

Also you have another week before Kreuzer's price pops, so you wont lose anything on if you wait... Also go for Brown, as a pies supporter i have to say he has been a freak for us, and will get a game every week and net you between 50-60 points...

Yep. I'm waiting for the papers - there is still a chance that Nicoski and Pfeiffer will play (and maybe even Proud!). Unfortunately, it is most likely that none will play.

Walesy would you look at Brown even though his price has already inflated?

I don't look at backs... :p

I dunno though, he's kinda pricy now, especially for someone you plan on keepinig on your bench...

However, if you as sitting on the one rookie back on the field strategy that everyone seems to be on, then it might not be too bad an idea.

remember though, there is 2-3 more rounds before you start upgrading with gusto, so if it's concivible to hold off your trades until then, you'll be better off for it in the long run...

(Though damn, if Selwood can hold down a full time spot!! Any word on his "year 12 aspirations"?)

Keep your ear to the ground and get a back up plan for both players. :)

The papers are a-buzz with the news of Coxy playing. So if Bowden is dropped tonight, you'll know with enough time.

Cox will be a late withdrawal if he doesn't play... Bowden won't be. :)

What makes you think Bowden won't be a late withdrawal?

From what I've heard Richmond can name him in their 22 and still drop him on gameday as long as its for an emergency/player included in the original 25.

Walsey, like SJ asked would you go for Brown or take the punt on Taylor?

He wouldn't be on my bench though necessarily - most likely I only have five starting in the backline this week!

And I know what you mean about trading. My preseason 'goal' was to use every trade in a direct decision to get in a keeper, or of course to replace a long-term injury. Had eight defenders playing last week, didn't need to look at Brown, and now disaster strikes.

The way I see it Bowden it set to drop 60K or so while Johncock is expected to rise around 50 k. That would gain a little over 100K for the trade plus you get 100 instead of 50 that the Brown trade to gain.

I'd loose a bit of coverage n the bench when Bowden returns but what if he is out more than 1 week and what if he is dropped because he has been a lazy bastard on the training track?

If Bowden is omitted I'm thinking I will drop him and pick up Johncock or Bock. I

The options to me are clear.

Pick up Brown, costs you an extra 58k but almost guareenteed to get a game every week. Hence will continue to rise in value and provide a backup defender.

Pick up Taylor, costs you less and will make you more money in the short term assuming he scores ok this week. High risk of getting dropped when Mackie returns next week.

If you get Brown, I'll get Brown. :thumbsu:

if u dnt have heath shaw then get him.. mind u bowden got dropped the year he won the b&f around bout the same time so he cld bounce back.. but tigers dnt seem to playing the same game as last few years which is a worry becuse hes was fanasty elite but not player elite if u get me

cox wil play!

no1 can be sure on bowden!

why bother any more though, Bowden has had his SC stardome, he is no good anymore, he gets playd outta position and they dont play his style game anymore. trade him out while he is stil at tht price.

im putting cox captain this week(only coz there is now a vice captain 4 late withdrawels), he always kills it against sydney!

I dunno, I'm just trying to think of the last time I've seen a non-injury related late-withdrawal...

Can't really think of any...

That Johncock suggestion seems kinda nice... Other options in that ilk would be Goddard, B. Jones (Though you have him yeah?), Ladson (Tossed up between him and Guerra at the round 1... went the wrong way. :D), Craig Bolton.

Even P. Burgouyne might not be too bad an option to move across to after his performance last week...

I'm not trading Bowden this week.

N.J.Brown or Taylor.

Make a decision for me.

Sounds good, once the teams come in tonight, if I need, I will do Thompson to Brown.
