Heritage Round 2009 Jumper

Just found this on the Swans website and don't think it's been discussed here yet. First time we've changed from the red V design for heritage round I think.

"This is a replica of the historic 1909 guernsey worn in South Melbourne's first premiership win against Carlton. This special edition commemorative guernsey marks 100 years of Sydney Swans premiership history.

These limited edition guernseys will be available in time for this year's round 4 heritage match against Carlton."

It's hardly opposition, it's a south Melbourne early 1900s top. I'm an admirer of guernsey and jersey (soccer) design, so I collect the good ones. Buying an opposition teams good guernsey isn't a big deal to me.

ok mate, fair enuff if you collect them, if you like soccer ones, try a shop in Swan st Richmond, I think its called 'The World Game' or something, google it, theyre pretty good for that sorta stuff, although I cant stand soccer!...

The 5 flags were won in the VFA which was the best footy at that time, so we have won 9 flags.

At the swans sydney office, on the wall in the foyer , is a design of all the jumpers that the swans have worn in competition football.
this one for the 2009 heritage round is my favourite........


'cass' isnt a bad film , if you liked that one there is a few 'football films ' released around the same time.
pity they are all about west ham .
1.the last foot soldier - 'true' story about carlton leach and the icf/ east london gangsters. carlton was in the icf at the same time as cass.
2.green street - a movie about a american who moves to london and his brother in law is in the firm , and takes the american to the game. average film
3.the football factory - probably the best out of all of them . this movie actually more about the 'firms' than the others.
and another film called ' essex boys' is related to the murders of 3 of the main gangsters in the last foot soldier. i havent seen that one

Yeah, soccers very much something you glance at. Though I must say there have been matches I've loved; any Australian World Cup match in 06, Hull vs Liverpool, and other exciting matches.

the football factory was good too, and I think you meen Green Street Hooligans? That was also good, havent seen the others though, thanks for that, I will look them up, its kinda sad that the only thing Im interested in about soccer is the hooligans though, they are all imbeciles, but interesting to watch all the same...
