here's part of it: (i don't have sub either. I just post the title into browser. Seems to work for me).

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority took no action against Essendon footballers who signed up to sports scientist Stephen Dank’s ill-fated supplements program but denied or did not admit to receiving any injections.

ASADA chief executive Ben McDevitt confirmed that four players who gave written consent to be treated with a Thymosin peptide — the same substance that resulted in 34 of their teammates being banned for doping — were never charged.

The Australian can reveal that although two of those players denied receiving injections, another two were not interviewed by ASADA and AFL investigators because they were sick or otherwise not available on the day of their scheduled examinations.

It is understood that, despite the priority given to the investigation, the players were never required to attend a later interview.

One of the four footballers who escaped ASADA scrutiny remains a senior player at Essendon. He will continue his AFL career this season while a dozen current teammates serve their suspensions.

Former Essendon coach James Hird told The Australian the doping saga had punished players for telling the truth and spared those who lied. “A couple of players who lied are the players who aren’t in the 34,’’ Hird said.

“Everyone who has told the truth has been bulldozed and destroyed. The ones who went down and told everything they knew are the ones who have been hurt.’’

as I said, Zaka was lying thru his teeth. Well played Zaka
Hird's "well-intentioned" supporting statements about the 34 so often come out all wrong. The players more often than not sound like they're more guilty than previously.

It's kind of hilarious tbh

That's assuming they did all tell the truth anyway.....

"I dont like needles"

who is his manager, Scott Lucas, well played Lucas and Zaka.

never tell the truth you idiots.

My brother in law went to primary school with Zaka and says that back in primary school Zaka was infamous for fearing needles.

Then again the best lies all have some truth in them

In a roundabout way Hirdy has just utterly given up the game.

Those who admitted to being injected to thymosin got banned.

Yes Hirdy, that's because thymo is banned. But Dankenstein thought it wasn't.

Now if you'd told the players the "vitamin shots" were actually what they were - hexarelin, CJC etc - they might have serious questions.

So you bullshitted them - black ops - but stuffed up on thymo.

And McDevitt nailed you on it and CAS baked him.

Sounds like Hird thinks there's more room under that bus...

And his words will ensure that ASADA and WADA should keep looking...

It's really sad how formulaic the denials in our modern world are.

Coupla years back I listened to an interview by a supermarket mouthpiece defending the "baked fresh in store" lie about their bread. Shamelessly defending an utter lie as actually being nearly true if you just looked at it from the correct angle. A number of talkback callers rang in and observed that they felt just like they were listening to an Essendon football club spokesperson.

And today I listened to Cardinal Pell. Who blamed everyone above him, and everyone below him, and his colleagues as well. Condemned their action, and their inaction. All of those bastards knew what was going on, or were the bastards who were doing it. And yet - as the man right at the centre of this assembly of guilty bastards - George was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Knew nothing, did nothing wrong. and of course good old George is firmly on the side of the poor victims. He says so, and he's a holy man, right?

Hauntingly familiar. Religious overtones and all.

I have resisted commenting about Pell because you just know Essendon types will go OMG THE HTB NUTTERS ARE COMPARING IT TO CHILD ABUSE OMG but I honestly reckon you could do one of those things where you take words spoken by Pell and by Hird and take the names off and people would struggle to guess who said what.

Hahahaha. Please let Kyle Reimers be the other guy who had the (astonishing) sense not to give the investigators anything. We can all guess one, it has to be a pretty short list to narrow down the other.

Hird still revving that bus and I'm guessing Kool aiders are jumping through some pretty impressive mental hoops to defend him.
