We need to protest long and loud over this.Who could be happy about a man who ruined the lives of a bunch of young men and their families, derailed a club and put many of us off footy for a few years. We are only just getting over the saga and now the AFL see fit to bring back the 'golden destroyer'? Only CULT FC folllowers and the AFL seem to be clueless about how so many supporters (and players) from other clubs feel about Hird and the cheating club that never did say sorry and truly mean it.

.068 is below the legal limit in quite a few western countries
and I'm pretty sure the TAC rightly won't be asking Hodge to present awards for them

You have no idea how much entertainment your club has given us. You couldn't script it. They wouldn't believe it.

I think the AFL are offering Hird the chance to present the medal as an apology for throwing him under the bus and making him the scapegoat for the saga. Obviously the AFL can't publicly apologise for the disgraceful way they treated Hird for near-on 3 years, but this is the next best thing.

No official acceptance as yet, as far as I know. He has expressed his interest in handing out the Norm Smith however.
It may be because people think Bomber should be there too.
