Totally agree!Hird sadly will have someone pay his costs and remain the only person to have gotten away unpunished despite being a key leadership position. He can keep his brownlow as he deserved it but he needs to be stripped of his hall of fame membership, stripped of life membership and be banned from any association with AFL for life. If he had any sort of leadership ability, integrity or professionalism, this whole mess would never have happened.
I guess so. Do you think he will though? (Remain silent). He doesn't strike me as the sort. For most people involved at the club they just want this over and for that reason I'd imagine James receives a "donation" just to make sure he stays silent
whatever your definition of morality, it has no place. The competition extends over the boundary line to the john elliot backrooms.
There will be no tin rattling and Hird will not pay a cent.
A mysterious donation will be made
Hirdy competing with Ken Jarrett for the award for excellence in legal decision making.
Give it 10 years and they'll no doubt drum up some kind of redemption narrative for him
If Essendon types want to rattle tins for him outside Etihad before we ... lol ... "play" them ... in a few weeks, I still have that shiny new New Zealand 20c piece ready to contribute to the great cause.
I didn't say the AFL would pay.Of course and the AFL paid for his holiday and are covering the costs for everything. Hird isn't out of pocket a cent. Wanting to believe things doesn't make them true.
I know better cos I am not a gullible numpty. pretty simple yeah?
No need, Paul's paying.
Do people really think that Paul Little will pay $700,000 out of his own pocket for court action taken by someone else and not approved by Essendon?
Just because someone is rich, it doesn't mean they throw money away...
it migrated outside afl hands. that was the problem. and zero risk management. how do you keep a program with 40 individuals plus the coaches broaching mid age crisis on the good-stuff vanity antiaging image enhancing melanotans and lipotropins, how do you keep this "in-house". you cant. its hubris to think they couldIt started with Corc turning Jim into a true believer 2 decades ago.
It evolved enough that Jim thought he was untouchable enough to bring it all inhouse and teamwide.
It combusted because the clown hired to do Jim's work was so hot that the Australian Crime Commission was watching his every move by the time he was having pina colada's by the pool with Jim n Shane.

stands to reason he was is the same guy who bought Jimmy's share of Jemba? no?Might not be Little but some mystery benefactor paid a chunk of it already. Originally he was to pay closer to 1.5mil until...
"A mystery benefactor has paid off a $750,000 debt owed by former Essendon coach James Hird to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, a court has heard

So not unrealistic that someone steps up and pays the remainder.
medusalastands to reason he was is the same guy who bought Jimmy's share of Jemba? no?

Assuming he declares it?Makes an interesting gift discussion with the tax office, James will be paying 49 cents or 47 cents in the dollar to the tax man (depending on who is elected!). Still better than paying the full Mottza to the lawyers and Chubb!

yeah I'm sure this is really going to put a dent in the wallet of the guy actually paying it. Not.
But the visceral hatred is a thing to behold regardless
I saw that face at the Inveloch Pub over Christmas.
