Season 24 was one to forget for the Sin City Swamprats. beez Trophy and Mobbs Medal winner, and future league admin, Ant Bear, endured a horror start to his time as captain, having taken the reins from Millky95 over the offseason. The Swamprats lost their first eight games of the season and won just four games for the season to claim the club’s second wooden spoon.

The Swamprats have won more games than any other team since season 24.

Season 25 saw the beginning of a period of dominance rarely matched in Sweet FA history. In the six seasons prior to season 31 the Sin City Swamprats are one of two teams, along with the Las Vegas Bears, to play in all six finals series. While the Bears have achieved just one preliminary final and one Grand Final appearance over this stretch, the Swamprats have reached the preliminary final in all six seasons. From there, they have appeared in four Grand Finals and won two premierships. Their record of 76 wins, three draws and 55 wins (between S25 round 1 and S31 round 16) eclipses all other teams.

The Swamprats have also dominated individual awards as well. Four of the last five Mobbs Medallists have come from Sin City, including dual Mobbs Medallist and season 26 rookie, Nunez. If that wasn’t enough, the Swamprats have also produced four other top-3 placegetters in the Mobbs Medal during this period as well. Nunez is also one of two Swamprats over this period to have won a Deestroy Medal, as the best player in a Grand Final, an honour he shares with current ‘Rats captain and fellow Mobbs Medallist, philreich.

Season 31 hasn’t been so kind to the Swamprats, who currently sit in 11th position with six wins and a draw with one round to play. Mathematically, they are still a chance to play finals this season and keep alive the chance to stretch their incredible streak to a seventh consecutive preliminary final appearance. They must beat the Gold City Royals this week and the Dragons, Bears and Hawks must all lose. If any of these results go the other way, or any of the Dragons, Bears or Hawks draw, it is curtains for Sin City.

About bloody time too.

Go Royals!

The Swamprats' dominance is something we can all thank NaturalDisaster for. Going into the Season 25, Round 9 game against the Gumbies, the Swamprats were 1-7. They lost the initial sim, but due to ND's simming error the Swamprats requested a re-sim and won. They proceeded to go 6-2 for the rest of the season and sneak into finals where they then went on a run to get to the grand final.

it also caused a Gumbies rookie to melt and quit the league because he took the Rats faux whinging seriously :$
