Carlton going down to Collingwood..

Hawthorn and Port going to the absolute wire..

Sydney will struggle to beat the Cats tonight..

Finals might not be as far-fetched as some posters on this board think.

yeah but where are we going to get our wins?

I will admit that losing last week did hurt our chances.

I do, however, think we can beat a tiring Freo here, and should beat West Coast and Melbourne.

Plus knock off one of Bulldogs or Saints. Hmm, maybe Saints, the way they are playing and we gets some players like Wells and Grima back.

Please. We will embarrass you at home FG. :D

I would rather North make finals than Melbourne, Carlton or Sydney though.

Hmmmm, I take this threat seriously.....as a Wet Toast supporter you very knowledgeable when it comes to embarrassment which is what your club has been all year!:D

I attended last weeks Eagles v Blues game in Subiaco as i was staying over in Perth for uni for 6 days. I got lip from various Eagles supporters about being at the game, and when i told them North would be replacing that silver spoon in their arse with a wooden one, they went all quiet for some reason!!

But see you guys in a few weeks, and go Roo's!!!:D

Collingwood was always going to win, was just a matter of how much.
The Hawthorn Port game in the scheme of things was irrelevent. We're not gonna pass Hawthorn. The only thing it might do is hopefully make them bounce back against Sydney.

If we put in a good show tomorrow (even if we lose) then Ill start to believe theres a chance.

Really though I think our kids are starting to tire, and the injury list is far to long.

7th and 8th spot this year could well be what 8th was last year: whoever falls over the least takes the mantle. Carlton may only win 1 or 2 more for the year (probably Richmond, maybe Essendon), Sydney similar. We need an extra win or two to get over these guys. If we can perform, it's definitely not out of the question.

yes, but on the other hand, with the key injuries we've got, we could also quite easily finish bottom 4.
Dees are only 2 points behind with better %,
Bombers and Crows only one game behind with better %,
And Port only one game behind with slightly worse %.
We need to upset a few teams now, or we could slide badly!

with our run home and the injury crisis it looks more likely that we'll finish 12-13 rather than make the 8. which in all honesty would be quite harsh.

I did the Ladder Predictor at afl.com and I honestly had us finishing 8th by virtue of Sydney's very hard run home and despite thinking we'll lose today and against St.Kilda. The thing that may come back to bite the AFL if I'm correct with my tipping (and I've struggles tipping week-to-week let alone a month in advance so it probably doesn't mean much) is that the North/Demons games that was buried away on Sunday evening of the last round will boil down to a virtual elimination final with the winner playing finals and the loser missing out.

Melbourne's % doesn't matter due to their draw. Collingwood, St.Kilda and Hawthorn have draws but only Hawthorn has any chance of being part of the 8th place scramble.

The interesting thing may be 7th. With Carlton and Sydney both way out of touch right now, maybe two spots are up for grabs. 7th would probably avoid a trip to Perth.

Having said that, before we make the finals I'd like to think that we could go in having played good football against a good side playing well - something we have yet to do all season. If we made the finals without such an effort then it would be nice but ultimately it would be rather meaningless.
