There are no more kings. So who are the horses racing for now?Horse racing is an ancient sport. Its origins date back to about 4500 BC among the nomadic tribesmen of Central Asia (who first domesticated the horse). Since then, horse racing has flourished as the sport of kings.
Great ?There are no more kings. So who are the horses racing for now?
That's a strange understanding of what meditation is.I would question that. Meditation is the equivalent to death that you can wake up from. I dont see any benefit other then stress relief.
Meditation certainly isnt living. Its withdrawing from life. That's a strange understanding of what meditation is.
Could they ban any breeding for say 5 years or something?
Allow numbers to naturally decline.
Have the same horses run for more than 1-2 years then say as they reach 6-7 then breed (1-2 foals max)
Might make better trainers rather than quantity over quality.

Have you ever practiced meditation?Meditation certainly isnt living. Its withdrawing from life.

Meditation is about taming the brains emotional response. That's a strange understanding of what meditation is.
As someone who has meditated for years and is in the process of training to teach meditation to others, I think you have a very warped idea of what meditation is, how one practices it and what it leads to. This is super off topic, so I won't keep pushing this, but I would definitely encourage you to have an open mind and explore meditation again. I think it would offer you an ultimately more satisfying and persistant response to life's stresses than alcohol.Meditation is about taming the brains emotional response.
Conscious life is about emotions. The good emotions is the only thing that makes life rewarding. Meditation helps tame the bad and that is obviously a good thing. But it is also a withdrawel from the good emotions.
Thus meditation is a withdrawel from life. The good and the bad. Sometimes very useful during the stressful and anxious times but its not life.

I preferred the initial 97 Grand National, IRA 1, blood sport enthusiasts nil.
Im not questioning that it helps deal with stress. The evidence is clearly in that it does.As someone who has meditated for years and is in the process of training to teach meditation to others, I think you have a very warped idea of what meditation is, how one practices it and what it leads to. Conscious life is also about memories of the past and imaginings of the future, both of which are intrinsically linked.Meditation is about taming the brains emotional response.

It reduces inhibitions against violence and child abuse
Most of the time. My two retirees and every other greyhound I've owned have LOVED to run flat out often (at least once a day) up to racing age and years beyond. Yes they like to laze around for MOST of the day, but not all day. My 8.5yo still wants to go bush and chase kangaroos and bunnies and her 13.5yo mother wants to chase her, but is too old and slow to run more than 100m at cantering pace before deciding it's a bad idea.Good post. These events depend on the animal's anxiety. Horses will occasionally canter around playfully in nature, but they generally spend almost their entire waking life grazing, as stated.
I will say that some breeds of dog can prefer to be active, e.g. most working breeds, but that's due to centuries of artificial selection by humans. Now city people buy border collies and wonder why the animal is completely neurotic not living on a farm or having a job to do. Ironically, greyhounds are some of the laziest MFers out there when given the choice.
Given the police force sometimes uses ex-racehorses, hopefully none of the naysayers were among the climate change activists arrested this morning for assaulting a police horse.
