It is not denying life to abstain from artificially breeding a horse for the sole purpose of human exploitation and animal cruelty. Just like a human is not denying a life by choosing to not conceive a child. You are making arguments trying to appeal to emotions of something that does not exist. The amount of mental gymnastics in here is mindboggling to try and justify a barbaric sport where the participants are not able to consent.

Humans would exist either way.

Race horses as a type of animal wouldn't exist at all which feels cruel of you and your lobby group

And yet do you agree race horses exist?

And they seem to enjoy living?
If that is your argument, then surely you can see how people object to them being sent to slaughter. Or do race horses enjoy that too?

Do you know that horses are conscious of death?

I think most studies show that animals are not really aware of death. Even humans, who definitely know it's coming, spend most of their lives pretending it's not.

Nobody loves horses more than people in the horse breeding industry. It seems the people outside the industry who want the industry banned are the ones who don't really appreciate the majesty of a thoroughbred and want them abolished from existence.

None of which relates to horse racing being an industry that exploits the lives of horses for profit....

At least now you're simply accepting that killing horses is OK. Your argument has moved on to them not being aware of dying so it's fine.

The point I was making was that if the horses enjoy living, then surely it is cruel to deprive them of that. Whether they are aware of death or not is irrelevant.

Unfortunately I have seen footage of horses being slaughtered at abattoirs, and I can tell you - they don't want to die. They want to live - you know, that thing that Marcel Proust says that they enjoy so much.

But here you are implying - "it's okay to slaughter them depriving them of their lives because they are not conscious of death". What a pissweak argument.

And as for the bolded, how can supposed horse lovers send them off to slaughter if they love them so much? The answer of course is that for many in the industry, the "love" only exists whilst the horse is a potential money maker. Once that capacity goes, the usefulness of, and "love" for, the horse goes with it.

You are putting your fingers in your ears, going "na na na na na" pretending the cruelty doesn't happen. Of if it does, you are cool with it. Either way, you aren't painting yourself in a good light.
