Yeah ya right it is all about footy and everything associated with it. But it is all a bit of fun and everthing that is posted on these sites is good for a laugh and makes for interesting reading. In a sense the conversations posted on this site is associated with football and in particular a football club, not mentioning which football club it is but if you have some idea about this site and league then it wont be too hard for you to figure it out or maybe...............

Like I have said in the past if you dont like what is posted on this site or any other for that matter then dont read it, instead go down to your local toy store get a kids book then go to bed and read that!! :thumbsu:

As long as you don't breach the rules of the site you can waffle about the pleasant afternoon aroma or the local reservoir levels if you want, though it can be frustrating for footy fans who aren't caught up in the cliquey stuff. So long as there's a common enough reference to the footy its ok. This is just one thread in the HDFL sub-forum so don't be afraid to start new ones with 'footy talk only', if not impressed with the near disturbing insularity on this one.

My suggestion is, if you want to get footy talk happening, start some. For instance, Onelastbounce, who do you follow/play for? What are your thoughts on that team's hopes at this point?

For example, I don't come from out that way, but umm... why has Rupanyup dropped so far off the pace? Anyone got any ideas? And do they still wear the red and blue panels? Where do they get their players from these days? Also how are the Baggies looking this year?

The Baggies are looking very good this year both the seniors and ressies have won their opening games. We (Edenhope/Apsley) are playing them after the bye.
We have not got off to a good start this year as we were beaten by Rupanyup yesterday by 3 goals in the seniors and 4 goals in the ressies! Hopefully our luck will turn soon. But dont right off Rupanyup, they will win their fair share off games this year. Your answer to your question Mobbenfuher, is yes they were wearing the red and blue panel jumpers yesterday.

Yeah but it is a suprise that they(Swifts Seniors) have won their opening two games. I happened to watch them play their first game against the Western and must admit that they were lucky to win that one, however a win is a win and was very suprised to see them beat Laharum as they didn't look anything flash the first week!! Have Laharum dropped off this season or did they have a few out??

As for their ressies I'd imagine they will be up there amongst it this year. A few older faces playing and have a descent forward line which will be the difference!!

Ominous signs early on with noradjua 28goals,harrow 26 goals, kalkee 27 goals and also pimpinio on the rise.
Very hard to see any of these 4 sides not playing finals this year...

I think laharum and western will battle for the 5th side to make it into the finals, however a lot of footy to come anything can happen, lets hope theres rain and the grounds can get up 2 speed so theres some good footy played..

Swifts are overated very lucky in there first 2 games not much chop in them however must give credit when due they did beat 2 good sides in western and laharum, hopefully they will get a reality check soon.....

what a start to Natimuk 1.7 after someone who originally came from natimuk said they had a few good pick ups.
theres one thing Edenhope-Apsley woud be happy doubt we'll see them finsh last surly they will win soon.
Be intersting when they Play Natimuk i'd put my $ on Edenhope-Apsley. also Taylors Lake as well.

good to hear Edenhope said Wimmera Umpires who did the Game at Aplsey are way better then the umpires in the Kowee-Narracort League
which is a Good sign.
Cause with out Umpires there be no Football.

Andy, u aren't giving much credit for Edenhope/Apsley! Once they hit their straps they will be a better side. Give them time and im sure they will win more games than u think they will. And yes, i have found the umpires a lot better in the district league compared to the K.N.T.F.L.

Have been a very successfull club but are going to be very ordinary this year. Have named a side full of kids coz have lost so many players and are struggling to rake up numbers for the 2's
They are going to be good this year. Will go better than expected. And they have enough numbers to make up a ressies side. I rekon they will hold their own this year the Panthers.

So what is goin on down at the Western? not enough fire in the belly?

Na wouldn't say that at all buddy!! Watched em play against Pimp on the weekend and they played 3 good solid quarters but were just let down in the 3rd where Pimp scored 7 goals to 2 with the wind, otherwise were therabouts all day. As for the first week, well they let that one slip, should have won. Stawell aint much chop.......

Have a look at the bloke that leads the club mate..............think he goes by the name of Hurley. Are you questioning whether he has enough fire in his belly!! I don't think you'd find anyone including opposition players that would question whether or not he has enough fire in his belly!!

If swifts somehow knock over Kalkee this week,do you think they are a finals contender even this early in the piece that will be 3 from 3?Whats every one elses opinion on the comp so far ?big kossi and mighty brian roar:p

Well you'd have to start to wonder that although after watching them in the first round I didn't think they were much chop at all and like I said lucky to win that encounter. Would be interesting to know what Laharum are like as they did beat them last week. I did hear however that Laharum had a few out which I'd imagine would have had an impact on the outcome!!

going on results only you would have to give them a chance but the bubble might burst and they could end up like hawthorn promise everything early and return with nothing as for the comp from what i have heard we are all chasing harrow:(

just wondering if anyone knows much about the kalkee team? i played there as a junior and remember playing with a bloke someone thomas who had alot of talent. is he still around the area and playing good footy?

Blair Thomas? got a knee reco couple years ago got fat and is now usless

Hey hows it all going at the western now, with it raining there is it going to effect those SPUDS that your all very concerned about, maybe you need to invest in a peeler as they may begin to sprout soon!

Travelled through the area the other day and it was good to see a green tinge on the oval. With having the bye this week all the boys should be fired up for the battle with Laharum. That will see how everyone is travelling. Saw the game at City oval on Sunday and was impressed with the determination they showed. The big fella up front booted a bag, what about this other star recruit - panther, doesnt seem to be coping too well. Not feeding him spuds are you???

Yeah things are apparently going alrite at the Western now, happened to see them play on Sunday as well and they look like they are starting to put things together!! Didn't see you there O'Grim One!!
The Big Fella actually started to live up to his reputation and was pretty dangerous up forward. As for the other star recruit in Panther, he's not playing too bad, just trying to find his feet again in the HDFL. Now as for the spuds, as long as the rain keeps on falling..........so will the spuds!! :D

Looks like my query has been answered with the KEES giving swifts a good little touch up.Swifts look to be 1 dimensional with anyon stop him and your 75% on your way to getting the 4 points.

Watching the game last sundy between noradjua and western i must say that the 3 officials controlling the were so inconsistant with decisions across the ground. One would give a free for holding the ball without any prior oppotunity down the other end they would ball it up if the player takes on 2 or 3 players and is caught.

Does anyone else agree about the umpires or was it just a one off.

Your not going to delete these comments Mobenfuher because i mentioned umpires ?

Every team is going to lose a few. But the kees are looking good knocked off pimp last week and the coaches are doin a good job not getting to far ahead of them selves. But they are a very young side and you would think that they might slow down abit but expect them to be there in september and be a real threat!

will be watching kees on the weekend, will let you know on the progress.. watched them quiet a few times last year and i could always see that they had it in their somewhere, weather unfit or just a lack of will to win it seems as if they've regained it this year..

Just a quick 1. Dunno if it is true but i hear from a VERY reliable source that the GtWestern born Dale Bligh is heading back home after an 8 year stint with the Rats!!!!
