Just listened to the top 10 posted by thewitness (cracking job btw!).
Peking Duk? Seriously? It's the most standard goddamn generic crap I've heard. Absolutely bog average stuff. Nothing innovative or adventurous about it at all. Hilltop Hoods are an abomination and should be in jail for crimes against music. ZHU sounds exactly like 100,000 other pop/trance/edm tracks released this year.
Griswolds? Meh, Vampire Weekend wannabes.
Sticky Fingers was okay. Again, nothing special at all. Kinda Fatboy Slim-ish happy upbeat dancey without being dance music stuff. Safe.
Milky Chance was turgid, vile and utterly unlistenable. Any money those dickholes have been ruining parties ever since they first got an acoustic guitar and thought they were the reincarnation of Bob Marley. I was very surprised to learn they were German.
Chet Faker is pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Good background/cafe kinda music.
Kite String Tangle was good.
Overall though, extremely poor. I shudder to think what the rest of the list is like. JJJ is so unfortunately bland now days.
