Weather is starting to fall on Sat. No more talk of 35km/h winds. Down to 10-20km/h during the day with 2mm of rain in the morning.

Damnit someone speak American

I am quietly confident. I don't think it will be an easy match by any stretch of the imagination, but like I've been saying all week - our best is better than their best. So that's all we need to produce in order to win it.

To be honest, that's what makes me nervous, though - it feels strange enough actually being in a grand final after so long. The thought of actually being FAVOURITES in one just seems... wrong :p

I'm worried, because I feel we can win, and I almost never feel like that before a game. I thought we'd easily beat them at our home game earlier in the year, and we creamed them. This time around there are a few negatives, so that does make it harder.

Negatives: Richmond home game, umpires, DAY game (how many of those have we had this year, and did we win the majority?), DustyMartinbesteverplayerevah, DamienHardwickbestcoachevah.

Positives: player depth, determination, and focus. The fact that Richmond's won those awards should inspire our players to show everyone a thing or two.

8 out of 10, with fingers and toes crossed.

The 5 day rule. If you're looking at the 5 day forecast and the weather is perfect, get worried. Once it's down to 2-3 you can start to rely on it.

Honestly 3/10

Richmond showed in Q1 this year, and North Melbourne game... We can crumble when too much pressure... We're susceptible...

God I hope not, but am almost vomiting here, waiting for this one

7/10.

Our best will win, but we've been ordinary on the G at times this year which is odd given it should suit us.

Out of 10, how confident are you about this weekends GF?

10 - Stupidly over confident, just another witch hat practice
1 - Richmond have this in the bag, why even bother?

I was about a 4 yesterday and a 6 today. I keep fluctuating. Nervous as hell but curious how confident other posters are.

In theory we are a better team....but Richmond are on a high and we all know from our own flags that being the underdog means nothing.

So a 6 for me today......

I'm a bit like you.
I was a 10 until I watched the replay of Richmond get off to a flyer against us...then was a 5 and now Im a quietly confident 6.
At three quarter time I hope to be an 11.

Was 5/10 and then I saw the umpire appointments. Stevic (9) & Meredith (21) from last year's GF (20 frees to 8 WB's way) and S Ryan (25) from our home minor round game vs Geelong. AFL really want that fairytale. I'm expecting a reaming.

For Richmond to win, they'll have to win their 5th game on the trot, which they haven't done since rounds 1-5, and it was the Crows who put an end to that run the following week. The Crows only have to win their 3rd in succession, which is hopefully a bit easier than 5.

Maybe those last 2 minor round games against Sydney and West Coast were the losses we had to have? :p

Wish i hadnt read this stat. Down to a 6. Umpires. Down to a 5.

That's a deceiving stat.

We have only played them twice at the MCG since that game obviously losing both. All other games have been at home, Etihad or Metrico (pre Gold Coast).

Go back and 2001 was the last time we beat them at the MCG prior to 08. Mind you we played 8 times before stepping foot on the MCG again in 08. We won 7 of those at Footy Park and Etihad.

A couple of things that keep going through my head:

We got lucky in 98 with a heavily favourited North Melbourne, maybe this will be payback?

You can't keep winning Grand Finals, we are bound to lose one eventually.

Anyone else having these sorts?

Nope.

History will not affect this game, if we lose its purely down to them being better than us.

Stay strong. Be confident. Stand at traffic lights and in the shower with your feet apart and with an upright stance. Feel like there is a cord attached to the middle of your head pulling you upwards.
Seriously, the Crows stance at the national anthem mirrors what every professional actor and every experienced public speaker knows. If you stand that way it does two things. First, it builds inner self confidence--makes you feel strong. Second, anyone watching you feels that you are confident and strong. Whoever the physchologist was that recommended this, they know their job.
