Gawn Hogan Jones Viney Melbournes 4 most important players missed over 30 games between them.

There are injuries and there are injuries.

Melbourne got rooted by injuries

Richmond were not incredibly lucky/kissed on the dick

September is where reputations are made, and there will never be a better finals series by one club than the Dogs in 2016 - 2 magnificent away wins in hostile territory, 1 win against the 3-peat juggernaut and 1 win against the best team of the year who had comfortably more talent on paper. And all done with serious injury issues and loss of key personnel throughout the season.

It was and will remain one of the most remarkable premierships in VFL/AFL history.

The Swans were also screwed by the umpires. Interstate team plays Vic team in the GF and gets screwed by the umpires. Think I’ve seen that before....

The only potential effect the bye could have had for us was negative as it could have stopped out momentum as the most in form team leading into the finals and it gave Selwood a extra week to recover and get up and play, which he did but ultimately was a incredibly selfish decision to put his hand up.
Confusing post.

I get why they had to play him, because even 70% fit he will still do something, but dropping Menzel and picking Z Guthrie? Wow! That was where they severely messed up. Apparently Menzels lack of forward pressure was the reason, yet he did kick 40 goals for the year. I’d be thinking you’d be backing a guy like that to get on the end of 2-3 goals.

Anyway, that wasn’t why Geelong lost.

Oh my. Full strength? We lost Brodie Smith in the Prelim final, Mitch McGovern for most of our finals including the GF, Hugh Greenwood carried an ankle throughout the finals and was toast by qtr time in the GF.....hence why a spud like Andy Otten played. And Pyke doesn’t like to blood New players so we haven’t used many players the last several years but that doesn’t mean we’ve had a good injury run. Last year we did but not this year. Don’t talk about the Crows if you don’t know our team.

But we lost Richo in 2009 (retired too early) and we had to play a bloke called Townsend!!!!!

Let me summarise... They are probably the two worst Premiers of the last 30 years and were both manufactured by the AFL.

Any other Premiership team from the last 30 years (and most Runners Up) would comfortably knock off these two teams.

The only Premiership teams manufactured by the AFL, are the NON VIC teams!!!!!!!!

Please. You’re a sook. You have only of recent years played KP on a few occasions for finals and it doesn’t have the capacity for the crowd a big final requires. Pre 2012 you NEVER PLAYED A FINAL AT KP! Yet you you still won flags at the MCG.
