Awful, again. I cant blame Jason Segal for wanting to be as far away from this mess as possible. Shades of the final season of Dexter here, the first couple of seasons were so good I have to torture myself and see this thing through.

No sure what has been more boring. The first 3 HIMYM's or the last 3 F1 Races.
Two things i have loved so dearly for the longest time are now just hangers on because i feel i would be cheating to just let them go.

Unbelievable how Cristin Milotti can easily be the best thing about the season opener, only to disappear for the next two weeks.

Its a kick in the head to the people who have stuck strong til the end, do they even give a shit about the fans!
Weird that people are only going through this disappointed stage now, I went through it a few seasons ago and as such have no expectations of the show any more and just watch it as light entertainment. The show was on a steady decline for ages but fell off the cliff season 6/7.

Robin and Lily's storyline in that last episode was terrible. "You're a psycho, but you're my psycho so I don't need any other female friends ... even though this chick and I are obviously soulmates and you're buggering off to Rome for a year". WTF was that?

But yeah, that was pretty poor.
Which idiot decided to give Lily a catch phrase? "Yousonofabitch" wasn't funny the first time, nor was it funny the next 100 times it was used, and neither is 'thank you Linus'.
People in this thread have been criticizing the show for years. Last season was half decent, and an improvement on season 6 and 7, but there's no way they should've gone on an extra season.

Scrubs did something similar to the "thank you Linus" bit. Kelso won free muffins for life, so he'd always be getting thrown muffins. But it didn't get stale, they changed it up, had random stupid jokes using it for absolutely no reason. The HIMYM writers should watch how Scrubs did it and take notice of it.
Yeah I didn't mind the first couple of episodes. The last few have been poor. I hate shows that drag out until the finale. The best episodes have been the random ones where Barney gets some stupid idea and so forth. These just feel so forced and trying for cheap gags. So disappointed at the moment, need to bring in the mother asap.

Other than that these filler episodes counting down the hours before the wedding are really dragging on, its like they went through a jokes/gags/ideas bin they couldnt use in previous eps and mashing it together to make episodes instead of writing..

when they were doing the bit where stinsons always said the word bluff when playing poker, i knew barney's line would be killer. haha i wasnt wrong. best part of the ep

What we all need to understand is that they are going to climax at the end of the season. Remember how friends finished? The big thing right at the final episode, they aren't going to have the two get together in 3 weeks time, its not going to happen to the final.

Yeah I know, it's just that the first two episodes of the season gave me such high hopes and then the next three have been poor. Hopefully it's shades of the previous season, when the first six or seven were among the worst they've ever produced but the second half of the season was quality.
