Love these heroes on here who reckon they get 14 hours of sleep every night and are so tough and brave they don't have a single vice. they don't **** around, don't smoke, definitely aren't fat, and are really rich and successful. they don't even buy clothes because that's not allowed. too many feel good feelings in the brain. are you lot raised Catholic or something?

it's akin to walking walking into a club forum on here and going 'yes you guys are shit at football, 'do better.''

I've never met a perfect person and yet bigfooty has about six of em. crazy!
Take a breath mate. You asked a question, then went everyone that gave you an earnest answer or tried to lighten the mood.

You seem adamant you don’t have a problem but also get touchy with people for being flippant.

If you think you might actually have an issue seek professional help, not on big footy.

No one here is saying they’re perfect, I’m certainly not but you taking every post as some personal insult is ridiculous.

Nobody has bloody said they're perfect.

But clearly people are getting too close to the truth given how you're responding to those who are just being honest.

Why ask a question if you're not prepared to take on board - and accept - what people will say?

I assume knocking off a 1L bottle of scotch whisky in one or two nights is way too much? Albeit like once a fortnight. Asking for a friend.

Imagine jumping into a thread about drinking, when you don't drink, and chastising people about it when it's a highly complex issue/addiction/illness and not being a medical or addiction expert. this forum has been dull as a franchised sushi handroll for five years but man is it getting worse.

'Um just like don't do it I guess.'

Are you okay?

again we're talking about booze here not riding a motorbike

you replied to a post saying having 15-20 drinks 2-3 times a week was a problem with guidelines that don't say its not a problem

The article I linked to said Australia's 'low risk' level of alcohol consumption was set because it's the same level of risk associated with driving a car. That's arbitrary! I think most people would accept that riding a motorbike or bicycle would be higher risk than driving a car. These are lots of common activities that carry some risk. I did a crazy white water rafting trip then broke my leg in a vehicle crash on the way back FFS. No regrets. We only live once.

I didn't claim that having 15-20 drinks 2-3 times a week wasn't a problem. I said it depends on the individual. I've got a mate who is the nicest bloke you could meet but turns into a nightmare after a few beers. My uncle drinks (sherry, yuk!) from dawn til dusk but his demeanour never changes. He is just chilled the whole time. Both of them have had very successful careers.

As I said, on a personal level, I drink more than is recommended in the Australian guidelines but I don't have any of the signs that you may have a problem with your drinking. A couple of hangover sickies over the years - or mental health days as they might be called these days.

My last drink was prepandemic so it averages to 0 . Even pre pandemic it was 1-2 a year ie for milestone birthday parties , weddings and the like and even then when I wasn’t driving

I’m not fussed what others do but selfishly I am grateful to no longer have to justify/explain my non drinking let alone cop pressure to drink when I just don’t want to

The people in my life have cut down a lot since their teens and 20’s too (some have given up on drinking altogether ) which also helps with the above

With all that sarcasm you should write a sitcom.
Cool idea. What scenario would you suggest? I’m guessing you’re a ‘Friends’ type of guy so how about an episode where the dorky looking dude, in an effort to be more manly, accidentally takes up crossknitting instead of cross fitting, but gets all frustrated at his mittens not able to knitten and cancels his online user account only to comeback and throw out equally useless and sarcastic remarks.

I don’t mean to be mean but you made me think of writing of sitcom and inspired me.
