1998 - disappointing result, was going for the kangas
1999 - great result, a loss to carlton and flag to the kangas
2000 - the ultimate

I got my tickets in travel packages which although hefty in price they are very much worth it as you are guaranteed the seat.
I'd move heaven and earth to be there again if Essendon make it. I'd happily part with the money that all these packages want.

1987 - Dad got tickets through work and we came over from Adelaide
1989 - Was a last minute call up for someone who couldn't make it
1990 - Lined up for a standing room series ticket before the finals, think I paid only $28!
1991 - Simply purchased a GA ticket when they went on sale
1992 - Got in on someone elses AFL Membership
1996 - In on my club membership
2001 - Knew a player and used their tickets
2002 - Somehow picked up two reserved seats in the MCC members through a relative
2004 - Rang around a couple of clubs late in the week and snared a couple of left overs on Firday late.
2005 - In on my club membership
2006 - In on my club membership

If you are desperate enough, creative enough, know people and are willing to fork out for a club membership that entitles you to a GF ticket then tickets can be had for face value.

Basically you can't. Need to know someone or be a member of the MCC, AFL or competing clubs. Or have lots of money and buy a $1000+ package.

my brothers an MCC member, but restricted and he doesnt know alot about it. Does that help somehow??

I went to 2000 and 2001. I'd just turned nine in 2000. I wish I could remember a lot more. The tickets for 2001 were tough to get. We were silver Essendon members, and had to miss the last 5 or so minutes of the prelim to queue up.

1990 - my best friend was Essendon and he had two membership tickets, so he bought a tix for me with his spare one. because of that, i didn't tease him at all throughout the day.

2002 - brought tixs from a scalper, should have saved my money...

i would've gone in 2003 but i was overseas working.... i was even thinking about coming back just for the GF. lucky i didn't
