How much longer can Priddis be debated?

Any he doesn't play his one position well either.

Not when he's a selfish ball hog with no hurt factor whatsoever. Not when his team-mates are charged with covering his man.
Depends on what you consider playing well, apparently some around here seem to think that it's ok that No. 1 midfielders kick like 12 year old netballers, handball to teammates feet or over their heads and only play defensively if the opposing player is coming at them (very slowly) head on in the middle of a pack.

Coaches, players and journos in every paper think that vanilla tastes better than chocolate

Vanilla will win the b&f in ice cream this year. There is no dispute as it is the best performed ice cream.

"He's our best performed mid.." - No he ****ing is not. Shuey is our best mid by a country mile, compare the impact on games from these two players and the debate looks laughable.

"Well the coaches rate him..." - Sure, that's why (apart from the 1 game against melbourne) he hasn't been tagged in years.

"But he made the 40 man AA squad.." - Based on stats alone. If Shuey had free reign to plod around each week gathering the football and then proceeding to butcher it, instead of having a tagger hanging off his arm, he'd have made the squad too.

"The media rate him.." - Again, based on stats alone. They see each week that he plods around getting 30 ineffectual touches and presume he's actually played a good game, yet what impact has he actually had? Did he step up in a big moment?

"But he won our B & F.." In a completely flawed and neanderthal voting system. Nobody on here gave him a chance ahead of Mackenzie, JK and Masten last year and yet low and behold he pulls the win out of his ass. Kerr came runner up in the brownlow medal in 2005 and 2007 and yet wasn't in the top 3 of our B & F in either year. Go figure. The John Worsfold medal voting system is a load of shit.

I've asked this question before, and pro-Priddis fans never seem to answer, but what do you think we would get for Priddis in a trade?

Keep in mind the coaches of the AFL love him.
Sweet F All

Late 3rd rounder if we are lucky.

4th rounder more likely, I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.

I'd give him away for free, no picks and pay half his wage for the next 2 years. That's how much I do not rate him.

Seeing as Paul roos was the only one to tag him and the state Melbourne is in he would likely give a second rounder for him. Pit him in his current role and set him as an example of a workhorse that never gives up.
Fourth rounder from everyone else.

why is this necessary.......
Because it's another endorsement against the ability of umpires to appraise a game of football.

Priddis can't be beaten now and should be congratulated for his accomplishment but to me, as a person who watched every West Coast game this season, I am surprised.

So Matt Priddis, Patrick Dangerfield and Travis Boak are the only players who can win the Brownlow Medal with one round to go.
-Cal T afl.com.au

2 players who have played shit this year, 1 who was never good.

Boak the only worthy winner.

But i'm hoping for a #1 Fyfe #2 Priddas finish for the amusement

The brownlow generally rewards consistency and Priddis is easily the most consistent bar Ablett or Fyfe......who both cannot win.

He deserves it.....

I knew he'd poll well. But thought he'd fall 3-5 points short. He did have enough good games to get 18 ish votes.
Surprising that he won? Sure. But cmon, who else would you have given votes too.
