I really wouldn't read anything into it. He was a basketball convert in his 1st season that Grant clearly didn't rate but had to play as he was on the list. He had some decent games at VFL level that year as well (otherwise he wouldn't have even been on our radar), so I'm guessing this was early on.That seems a lot more serious than just not rating a player. Sounds like Grant has some deep personal problems with Josh?
Apart from tippett, which ex-basketballer has not been loyal?JJ comes from a basketball background and follows the NBA bigtime.
Basketballers like soccer players are far more likely to chase the dollar than be loyal.
Justin Reid would have a hand in this too.If the club stuffs this up, it might be time for David "no-balls" to fall on his sword
I dunno. Teams have started sticking a taller defender on Betts at times. Scott D. Thompson, Alex Rance, Dale Morris, all guys who've matched up on Betts this year. And Carey is Wrong. While Betts gets a good defender, it would not be the same defender they would put on JJ if Betts were not there. JJ gets the 2nd best Tall defender. Betts gets the best medium or small defender.
Jenkins also might be the 3rd best forward on paper, but he's he's not 3rd or 4th string. That would be Greenwood and Dear. 3rd and 4th string are depth players. 1st string means in the starting side.
On form though, he would be currently our 2nd best forward. Yes its assisted because Walker gets the best Tall defender......
What is the point in even bringing this up before the event, when it is more than likely JJ will stay?If the club stuffs this up, it might be time for David "no-balls" to fall on his sword

Club says talks ongoing.because the contract talks have now been put on hold.

Good but if he's not done during the season in getting worriedRoo again on MMM this morning has said everything is going ok and you shouldn't believe everything you see or hear.
Pyke also said talks are going well.
Jenkins has also said on a number occasions he wants to stay.
He's going nowhere
Well yeah, he has admitted that publicly.
We don't know they've stopped, the club are saying they haven'tTalks between Connors and the club probably have stopped for now due to Connors other commitments. He probably just leaked talks have stopped to ramp up a bidding war and put pressure on the Crows to up there game. If he gets 3 or 4 clubs offering 4 year - 5 year deals at $600k-$700k or even more a year its massive leverage for the Crows to come to the party which appears is what will happen in the end.
Hudson...?Apart from tippett, which ex-basketballer has not been loyal?
Jj has openly said he wants to stay.

I think one thing we do know is that you can't read anything into players' public statements. If he is staying, he will say he wants to stay. If he is going, he will say he wants to stay, or some other platitude that doesn't mean anything but keeps everyone happy. "I'm loving my footy, Adelaide's a great city, so I can't see why I'd want to leave" or some rubbish like that.Well yeah, he has admitted that publicly.
Ah yes, but make no mistake, Pendlebury is being looked after in a manner that will at bare minimum, match GWS. Vic clubs do this best, especially the big Vic clubs.Pendlebury turned yuge money from GWS
Of course he wants to stay. But if he gets a 5 year deal for $3m from another club he will probably leave because we won't offer that.
"Wanting to stay" is conditional for any player.
