2025 Draw - hoping for MUCH softer

I think Port and Collingwood will both have down years. Hawks will be right up there though.
Imo, Pies should bounce back.

Reckon Blues may drop if they get injuries as got rid of their depth.

I... ah... look I hate to break it to you but we've only beaten Brisbane once in the last six seasons
Oops, sorry, I apologise, should've checked that one a bit better. Yes, we've only beaten Bris once. For some reason I though we had a win and a draw in 2024 and didn't even check that one. O well, I am human, have to make a mistake here and there.

Its the sort of game we should be winning comfortable enough at home...... if we want to be any good

Don't get too overconfident. Our R1 home record isn't great over the years. But of course I hope we win this.

At least it will not be raining in the middle of March.

It's not overconfidence, it's a desire to want to be better. If we want to be better we need to be winning

The point re the last couple of years, is we have had opening rounds in the humidity & heat of Queensland .....it has been a factor, given Adelaide's heat is very dry

The main one was round one 2023 vs GWS played in stifling early afternoon sun, heat AND humidity in western sydney.

Look at the following weeks results. Crows very flat against Tiges, then came back and ran out of puff half way thru the last quarter. And even worse, Giants lost to Weagles giving them one of their only 2 or 3 wins for the whole year.

And Laird came out and said after the GWS game, the heat really affected him ......it was rinse & repeat in 2024 as well with Laird

Yeh, that would have meant Laird in R1 2023 in busting his arse. His lowest disposal a/c since he moved to the midfield. We got absolutely smoked by their midfield but not surprising given we had Laird, Sloane and Keays in it as our 3 of our main midfielders.

And Nicks played Dawson in defence, how long would Dawson be playing in defence if he didn’t ask for the move?

I’m just hoping that none of our new recruits and the younger ones like Soligo etc, don’t get any preseason injuries coz I’m going to be fascinated with the selection of our R1 team. I don’t expect to see Laird in the midfield and Smith/Murphy in the side either.

George man. You have asked that same question probably 50 times already. Are we all so bored in life we have to go over it a 51st time?

Please some new material at some point.

Yep agreed. With no injuries no way Smith plays with Hinge, Cumming or Milera at hbf (even Jones is better)

Murphy is now made redundant with ANB.

Laird off the bench providing good flexibility in a number of positions,

We will need a new whipping boy and trying to work out who it will be as no one jumping out at me..

Email man, don’t make me regret taking you off ignore.

I reckon you’d have to look long and hard for the last time I would have made that point.

Quite like that new Moniker. Ok in the interests of team harmony I admit you haven’t raised it for a long time. At least a week. No a couple of months in all honesty.

Waiting for your vote in the poll old mate, who do you reckon we get?

Stretch that couple of months closer to 6 months and you’d he closer to being accurate.

I think we will trade to 2, grab Lalor if he’s available if not, Smith.

Sounding off about it from a supporter perspective is fine, and you have a valid point. However, the point that n4sir was making was about how it would impact the players - who don't have to worry about parking, or a lack of sheltered viewing points around the ground.

The whole argument by n4sir falls apart in the face of reality - it's only a 78 min drive from Tullamarine, not the multi-hour journey they were railing against. It's the equivalent of playing games in the Barossa Valley (SA) or Mandurah (WA), neither of which are outlandishly long bus trips.
Spot on.
As I said - as a Melbourne based member.
My post didn't care for the travel of players given they need to travel the day before.
They should be professional enough for that. Whatever.

But the ground/stadium is sub-standard AFL.
It's not even Melbourne. We have 2 games removed from Melbourne, but the AFC have upped our Melb membership???
So I get less games to see, but need to pay more. FK off.
Including the worst shithole in Country Vic I need to travel to? OK, Geelong is a close 2nd...

As I said, maybe ONE of them is acceptable, (either Launceston or Ballarat - I shut up)
but 2 of 3 years I get 4 games to watch - unless I travel---
For the record - I do travel - I saw R1 in GC, R3 in Perth and R4 in Adel ... until I realised how shit we were. Then I cancelled all other trips.
Seriously, I've attended Marvel games where we have outnumbered the Vic team supporters - NM, WB, STK, Melb.... but we still get sent to FUKville games instead.

Therefore, I'm not re-newing my pointless VIC membership.

For those who email the club - how do I contact Silvers?
Frankly, as a Melb based member with - yet again - only 4 games in Melb, I'd like to ask him why I should bother.
What did you expect when you only get 11 away games and half the comp doesn't play in Victoria?

And we play the Vic teams who often sell their games to Tassie or Ballarat

It's not the club's fault. Blame the AFL or the shit Vic teams who sell their games regionally

Yeah, used to be 6.
Last 10 years is 5.
Now it's only 4. With 2 sold away.
What's wrong with expecting 5 when half the comp are based here?

There are 5 in Victoria? Ballarat is in Victoria the same as Geelong is in Victoria, more expansion teams mean more away trips not in Victoria. Once again not the club's fault, email the AFL. The AFC can't do jack shit about this issue particularly when they finish in the bottom 4
