fair call. Bad move by the hume league, is merv wegner still pres?
thought being a walla man he'd never allow another 'hoppers' join the league. yeah walla bout stuffed but still hand 100+ hidings out to CDFL teams!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
dont think that merge with henty info is credible, any sources??

Henty were never approched. It wouln't work anyway as the towns are half an hour apart. It's would be just as easy for Walla people to go into Albury

Reggie. Firstly good points re BB Saints. Good to see a battling club get a win. Hope you enjoyed the celebrations.

But, I was at the game and the jumpers were way too similar, wrecking the games for the players and the spectacle for the supporters. On the CDFL vs Hume teams, the gap is too wide. Expected the beltings for Rennie and Coly, but CDHBU and the Crows must be a bit shellshocked. Hard to pity them though as those two clubs wanted to go across to Hume........

i didnt think the guernseys were that bad from the sideline but out there it was definately alot harder to tell them apart, also heard a rumour that walla agreed to let them stay in there old colours, seems strange considering they have been in the league for over 100 years and always been the hoppers

On the second point, get your facts straight. Rennie DID NOT I repeat DID NOT want to join the Hume League. Not going to repeat things on why it happened but I suggest you read some old CDFL threads before you come up with statements like this. Just to let you in on things old mate, Hume League hierachy told Rennie they could keep their colours etc as Walla were about stuffed. Rennie were further told that Walla have recently attempted mergers with Henty, Culcairn and now Jindera, so no need to change.

sorry about that hand grenade.even if they walla are on the way out they are doing fine this season.maybe rennie or walla for that sake could have a clash jumper .along with osbourne and rand??? it may cost money but clubs do pay for players who come over priced.

brad scott is a gun and plays his heart out every week.in a good side he would find it easier but would he enjoy his team mates as much???

Hume League hierachy (plus Culcairn Committee members) told us re the Henty approach. Culcairn committee members (naturally) told us of their approach from Walla. And a Walla committee member admitted to the Jindera approach last Saturday. Told me that if Jindera knocked them back they were knackered.

Walla might be stuffed $ and future wise but credit where it is due - they are still putting a good team on the paddock atm. Bloody shame if they are going to go under.

Don't worry about clash jumpers. Walla may not last, Rennie will probably be in another comp 2009, or both.....

In the BM on Monday it said Holbrook were 'surprising' winners against Lockhart. Been following them since a couple of ex-tiges went out there (Kel, Finna, Hooter etc.) Are they over rated at 6-1 or have they just played easy sides? How has DC been going, he must be 48 by now :D

any word on Mackie to Jindera Saga ?

heard a rumor that Rob Murray out for 6 weeks with injury ? anyone know

is there any truth to the rumor that brock is going to break away from burrum and burrum will fold next year ?

sorry for all the questions am in WA at the moment not much info over here

Don't know about the first 2
but heard that rumor abot brock is true and that Mark Sanson is coaching.

Can anyone shed a bit of light on the rumour that John Brunner has been playing with a couple of Broken Ribs? He'd be crazy to especially seeing as though there playing Rennie this weekend, Apparently Rennie like going the Knuckle?

I heard that he has been but it isnt the first time a person played with boken ribs. Buddy Logue has been playing with a cracked sterum for the past fortnight! People think he is walking around with his chest puffed up at games and at training yet it is the thin foam padding around the front of his torso that makes it look that way. Hasnt yet effected his form!

This post brings me back to something I mentioned earlier - this guy is either 1 of 2 things. Insane (quite possibly), or he needs and is playing for the money.

He has done everything in local country football what is he thinking? At 68 years old or whatever age he is, you don't play with broken ribs, my grandma told me bones are brittle by that age!!

Mind you, if this is true I'm thinking he is option 1 just quietly!!

Sorry, but these lists don't mean jack shit. One club gave their guy the mug cause he travelled from Melbourne and played 7 minutes. If we were talking about the best players wouldn't Murray Leahy (BB Saints) qualify for being in the top 10? Might be well travelled but is only 25 and played 50+ O and M senior games? Royce Jack also from there has kicked 4 and 6 goals in the last two games. Not a bad effort for a small forward. Callanan is the best i've seen this year by a mile.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Mate not sure where you're getting info from but i have been led to believe walla are in a sound financial position. They, just like many other clubs, struggle to recruit the top line players (minus whiterod)no matter what money they offer them. Most would prefer to go to other clubs where success is culture.
they need to go to jindera to pull more players and i think it will happen. Jindera just cant see the forest for the trees at the moment cause they are winning.

There was a lot of blame out there last year & it was not from the rand people either. Walbundrie people you know the minority I am talking about.
Keeping in mind that Oz was a first year coach & it was a steep learning curve.
Glad to see he is playing some great footy in the Tallangatta League that syle of hard in & under footy would suit him.
And he is a hell of nice bloke

Who wld that minority be mctrainer lets not play games and name names, you seem to know what was happening there las year what was your role at the club? Granted he was a 1st yr coach but he put his hand up and if was not prepared for a massive role that coaching is he shld not of accepted the generous salary that was on offer. RWT is a far better place to be around than last season although they have not broken through for a win yet people want to be there and the feeling is still positive, i have full confidence that the men in charge can take them places. and as for osbourne dominating in the tallangatta leauge it shows that it is truly a second rate comp and really just a nursing home for ex wodonga players;)

Here It Is, i suggest you continue with the good work with your lists and ignore negative shit like this, as these tables are fantastic if you take them for what they are, and apreciate a bit of work from someone with little motivation other then to discuss local footy - the point of this site.

Also, could someone in the know be clear on these Brock/Burrum seccession rumours? Surely Brock wouldnt leave Burrum in the cold like that, despit ancient rivalries? I was under the impression that the merger was doing relativley well, when compared to others in the league such as Rand/Walbundrie and Oaklands/Urana? Is generations old animosity really that difficult to put aside for the future of footy in these towns?

And whats going on with Walla? Are they really in as much trouble as has been reported?

Isn't the Hume League celebrating its 75th year this year? Where do you get the 100 years from.

You might be interested to know that the CDFL was due to celebrate its 100 years about this year (correct me if I'm wrong - Here It Is, you'll probably know). It might be a fact that Rennie have been in the colours and with the Hoppers moniker a bit longer than Walla?

Don't know if it is true but you can now be sure that Rennie will test his ribs out this Saturday. Rennie are not dirty but if you want to play anyone injured, well you may pay the price. Rennie don't seek to go the knuckle but they are not a side that will take a step away from a fight either. They are just trying to lift in theit intensity, skill, morale and hardness after a very ordinary 2007.

Read my earlier post - the info came from someone who is a committee person, and who clearly plays a role with the club on game day. He didn't go into finances but indicated that player number wise, and with the Walla Town/Village going backwards, the club had no future. A real shame as from my observations they looked like a pretty good little country club with some quality people and players. Good luck to them and I hope they can survive long term in one shape or another.

What the f*ck are you on about here ? You cant just say something like that and not back it up without an ounce of info you tool

If murray leahy is only 25 and that handy why is it that he is playing in the magoo's. Seems such a waste of talent rotting away at BB reserves. I thought one arm and one leg was all that a person required to make the jump into their senior squad.

sorry, ment that walla had been around for 100 years, not just in this league, and my point was that while walla has been in the hume league they have always been the hoppers, walla shouldnt have to change, and either should rennie, leave them both as they are, strange that holbrook was made to change from hoppers to the brookers when they came into the league, but rennie wasnt.

Well Gun Recruit what facts do you have to prove that Jindera are not struggling.
They might be winning now but whats going to happen next year when theres no more money??

Why would you call a team the Hoppers to start with and why wouldn't you jump (pardon the pun) at the chance to change your name and the colours????
