It's past my bedtime, so maybe my brain isn't working properly. But as far as I am aware, our "housing crisis" is that we don't have enough houses to house the existing population (and "normal" levels of migration) and we can't (or aren't) building the right kind of houses in the right places. There's no lack of demand for housing.

Though I guess Mr T isn't particularly interested in building the kinds of houses most Australians want/need. What he is saying is that we need more high net wealth immigrants to boost demand for the kind of high-end developments that many developers are really only interested in.
