I hope the Dogs are really sick

You guys are all off the mark.
There's a certain recently ex-ed player sitting at home sticking pins into a bulldog cushion. Virus pfft. Flu pfft.

Its a curse laid on by shaman Ake.......
(damn, I've just been deaded...)

I think you're all disrespecting Geelong. They are back to their awesome best tonight. Pies might be the morons fave, but the smart money is still on the Cats. Epic team.

Yep, they're the best side in it.

Hopefully St Kilda get their best side on the park and make a contest out of it.

Let's just face it, they've been there abouts for the last few years, but for some reason they've been missing that last vital ingredient (whatever that is) to go a step further...this year is no different. As much as we all see them as our 2nd favorite team they are lacking that final bit of polish to go all the way.

Hardness.

No it's just the difference between a side putting elite pressure on Geelong last week and none tonight.

That's it. I don't actually think Geelong are playing that clean, just that the bulldogs have no energy, no chase, no harass, and probably fallen into million habits knocking off rubbish teams.
Is it any different to the way Carlton have looked against Bombers or Tigers?

Bulldogs game plan sucks against Geelong, they defend too far back and just let the Geelong backline control the space 30m-70m out from their goal line where they go handball happy. Pies won't allow it.

Pfft, they'd be 53 goals down if his destructive, individualistic ass was still hanging round the club.

It's a special disease the playing group caught in 1955 and have been suffering from ever since. It gets passed on from generation to generation. It usually flares up in August or September when we come up against superior opposition.

There's no known cure, as yet.

It would be interesting if they were to drop two of their most important players with a virus if they were just doing it as a fall back. But still, they are playing as if they have the AIDS virus.

Knew they were never a chance to win, gave them a good opportunity to make this flu look more convincing than the less 3 times it's swept through their camp :)

Not sure how to look at this one, maybe the signs were there that this was going to be an awfully one sided event.

Collingwood poking the bear, Dogs with a virus....

For mine it will be how they recover, rather than wondering if they are capable.

they drop players who have the "flu" but keep Lake on the field, who obviously has hurt his hip

sound management that:thumbsu:

Agree. With the outs we had and half the team clearly struggleing with the flu we should have just let lake rest aswell and get him right. Could not run or even jump today and needed a needle at quarter time to get back out their. Disapointing night.

If it is the actual flu, somebody should sack the medical staff at the Dogs. Flu vaccine is so effective these days, there is no excuse for any professional sports-person to ever get the flu. Dogs with the flu would imply they don't have a vaccination program.

I can tell you as a qualified Exercise Physiologist that elite sportsman are more likely to get the flu than the general public. Because of the level they push they're body their immune system is always lower.

Injections or not there's no cure to the flu as there's so many different strains.

Time will tell what affected what. 100 points is pretty compelling too.

How did the dogs fans find Darcy in the commentary, personally I found him annoying. Lake is everyone's whipping boy it would seem.

I could be wrong, but it looked to me like Johno should have gone for the ball and didn't when it was kicked low into the forward 50 on a play in the 3rd I think. Anybody else get that impression?

Yeah, thats it. Must be it. At least keep telling yourself that. Until September....

I hope they are sick too, OP. REALLY SICK! :D

I dont really like the fact that the majority of posters on here are blaming the Bulldogs loss on a "virus" instead of Geelong's brand of footy.

dogs have had this virus since 1955...

next up they will be telling us Hudson couldnt ruck because he broke a fingernail and Higgins is out because he is impersonating Barry White... :D

Shame about the virus. A fit and firing Bulldogs might have only lost by 70-80 points.

In all seriousness Geelong simply showed that their best is a mile above that of any other side. To see them dismantle a top 4 team and supposed contender in the manner that they did sent chills down my spine.
