I wonder if Perry would be happy to accept a one year deal now?

Gladly we have the dynamic Scott McMahon on our list to make up for this.

I don't get it. Good posters on this board can't be this wrong.

But coaches, recruiting officers and football department managers from 16 AFL clubs can be? I have a little adage which has served me well... in a choice between a seasoned and highly paid professional... or an unpaid opinionated ar$eclown with an internet connection... always go with the pro.

You are wise obe wan

Its pretty simple when you sit back and have a good look at.
As it currently stands unless your a star or elite player at any club, your
in danger of being traded or delisted , Perry fell into both of these categories as he has not really come on in the last 3-4 years that he has been on our list , now before many of you arc up he should of been setting the world on fire in the VFL and to me he was no stand out just another good footballer without being great.

So when offered a 1 year contract maybe he should have should to himself you know what I still have alot to do to become an elite player perhaps I should knuckle down and prove that to the people here at the club.

He decided against this and his chance was given to one of the 3 rookies promoted onto our senior list , add to this 15 other clubs overlooked him in all forms of recruiting so maybe the club couldn't be to far wrong.

Just my opinion but hey, I am sure not all will agree.

I agree. I am sick of this lets make a goodbye thread. So we can say see you to perry so we don't have to hear what if blah blah. He is gone and i can't see him making it back. Lets put his memory to bed. I'm more upset about makey at least he could play

Yeah I prefer pros to ar$eclowns as well.:thumbsu:

I think Perry will play for Port Melbourne in the VFL.

Don't know about that one... Ports backline looks pretty settled at this stage with some good recruiting.

If he sticks at the VFL I reckon he could be a chance to join newly appointed player and assistant Coach T.Makepeace down at the Casey Scorpions.

Sort of player that will get good money offered to him in the SANFL.

Makepeace's delisting was more of a travesty. Everytime we don't hit a target with the kick-ins next year I'm going to miss him. Perry was worth investing some more time in for sure. Not surprised that they only offered him one year so he should've taken it(if it's true). These days it looks like you only get one chance to make it at AFL and then you're damaged goods as they're is always a youngster running around with "untapped potential" that will bump you off a list.

I said good posters.

NB would be the only guy on here who in anyway rates Chad Jones, and yet he got picked up by WCE.

I guess the circumstances didn't suit Joel, but, I'd have liked to have though we'd have at least rookied him.

Yeah liked makey running off HB, would generally hit a target

He'll be on Hawthorns list in 2008.

Now, how did I know you were going to say that ?

Still, you're probably right.

On a side note, god I hate this immature thread title. All that it's missing is the "n'yah, n'yah, n'yah, n'yah, n'yah" off the end.

Good luck to Pez and Kris Shore down at the Mustangs.. very interested to see what kind of seasons they have.

If Kris Shore actually plays, it would be his first season of footy for a while.
If he ever had any talent to make him worthy of pick 18, it's still not too late to show it. He'd be around 21-22 now.

I rate Perry.

And if he doesn't get picked up by Hawthorn, will you give them as much stick on the Hawthorn board as you have here? Will you watch any VFL games to see if he has actually pulled his finger out and made himself a certainty?

No I have the ten games he played with a degree of sureness that few rookies we have have displayed under Laidley, despite him being part of a backline that was torn between getting slaughtered by our slack midfield and pssing itself laughing at Hay's inability to kick - on loop 24 hours a day.

I won't be watching VFL matches to know he is AFL standard, I'll be watching our backline stars such as Leigh Brown front up as a tall defender despite not having beaten an opponent since Round 1 2005.

The kid was worth a spot on this list, and I don't care if he wasn't picked up, I still think he was worth a spot.

Inside Australia Football confirmed that Perry has signed with the Box Hill Hawks for 2007. Good pick up for Box Hill.

Not anymore he's not. Hes just been released as a recruit for the Port Adelaide Magpies, playing with former teammates Brent Lecras, Justin Perkins and J Clayton.

Did he sign it in Invisible ink? Actually in what issue did it say he has signed with Box Hill? I can find no mention of it... Just a small piece that says Shore has had his surgery and should be right to play.

But that's all history and won't buy him squat, let alone a spot on anyone's list in 2008 if he doesn't tear it up in the VFL next year.
