Ian Perrie, the bold guy who plays forward for Adelaide football club, 26 yrs of age, kicked 40 goals this year and wants to return to W.A.

Crows fans seem to think he is worth a first rounder, whats your unbiased opinion?

He is worth a lot to them until Watts comes on. I would say 1st rounder considering the Eagles won't have a pick until number 19 and the draft isn't very deep.

He is definatley worth a first rounder, he has enormous value and is very important to Adelaides structure. He would be of great benefit to either Fremantle or West Coast

I dont see it honestly, I think he is worth 2 2nd rounders at best, I just think this is the only year he has actually played decent footy, plus he didnt kick enough goals and his kicking is horrible.

Considering Eagles are keeping there 1st round pick, i dont see it possible for a deal to be done here.

Our first rounder and maybe a fringe player(wooden and co)
Not sure if i'd do it though but thats IMO what he is worth.
I live in Adelaide and see him every week, he isnt an awesome kpp, but will always give a strong contest and hard leader.
Similar to Hanson more than anyone on our list.

difficult part is: where do you see him playing? FF? if so, what's the point of having smith? CHF? why play him there when you have hansen coming along nicely? tall forward pocket? we've been using gardiner effectively out of forward pocket/HFF.
Difficult to see where we'd place him to be honest. Maybe just as depth? who knows.
I'll leave the trading up to the eagles to decide what he would be worth, it's difficult to say.

It seems the player we will get with out first round pick wont be much better than the player available at our 2nd rounder. In fact the way ths draft is shaping, it is conceivable we could snare the same player.

We have so many young talls at the moment.

If we traded for Perrie we'd have to offload someone like McDougall, Lynch, Graham or Staker.

I reckon those guys have improvement left in them. Perrie won't get any better and will never be the top drawer forward that we're hanging out for.

If anything, he'd just slow down the development of more promising KPPs by denying them opportunities.

Not interested.

Whilst I'm sure he is worth more, I most certainly would NOT give our 1st Rounder for Perrie.

IMO we are better off trying Smith and Co.

As far as realistic trading value goes, I guess it depends on what team he heads to. If for some reason Pav left Freo, then I'm sure he would head there.

He is over rated. 38 goals looks like a solid return but he usually gets only the 3rd or 4th best defender after Welsh, McGregor and Hentshel?

you don't watch crows games then I take it - Perrie always gets the no.1 or No. 2 defender,
will be interesting if in fact he has told the W.A clubs he wants to go home

I wouldn't have thought he would fit into the Coasters but saying that he would be a better forward than a couple of their at the moment - they guy works 110% and gives you an option all day

sad to see him leave, what he is worth will be the most interesing thing
I imagine it will picks + player, in a three-four way deal

If he could kick straight he would be worth more than he is now. Something tells me he has peaked and won't be that good when all the Crows supporters are trying to trade him away. Not the same support for him as they give Watts.

Don't think he is over rated. At times he has had the best defender on him and other times he has had a second or third best defender on him. The reality is, he could offer a third option at a place such as Freo next to Pavlich and McPharlin. Couple that with someone like Medhurst and all of a sudden you have a pretty consistent forward line with a number of options.

Whatever people say, 38 goals for a player who plays up the ground a lot is a fair return.

What is he worth ? Probably not worth too much to WC who have a number of forwards already. Freo may decide he is worth more, all depends on the perceived needs of the club.
