Have had to restart after my computer erased, but I've managed to build up a pretty good 2010 Lancs side.

Akash Christian (Scored 4000-odd runs @ 56 as an overseas player in the past 2 seasons)
Mark Chilton
Marcus North (Averages 46 with the bat and has 103 FC wickets @ 30)
Simon Marshall (The gun and regular team saviour, averages 58)
Sean Ervine
Rikki Clarke
Matthew Wood
Garry Cross+
Tim Murtagh
Simon Jones
Danish Kaneria (1st season, he has 40-odd wickets at 10:thumbsu: )

Flintoff an Anderson on regular international duty, they slot into the squad when available.

wow Hampshire got rid of Ervine. In my game he's a gun. Ave 45 with the bat and around 30ish with the ball in FC and 38 with the bat and late 20's with the ball in ODI. Have made him my captain over the last few seasons.
Hows he going in your game mate?

Okay time to bump this back to the top of the page.

Anyway, i think i am in 2010 season (with Aussies), teams is starting to build back up again, in the 08 season completley sucked. Couldn't find a half decent team. Now I am 1st in ODIs and 4th in tests. Cosgrove, played with him in 07 (i think) completley sucked brang him back into the side and a great defensive player in the ODI's and can go attacking and a great player in the tests.

Team is looking like this

Tests

Jacques
Watson (Opener in bowling as well)
Ponting
D.Hussey
Cosgrove (Usally opens changed for this match)
Hayden (Bowls regularly, takes 2 or 3 wickets oftenly, bowl him for 2 overs if he goes for less that 12 keep him on)
Cam White (Spin bowler, in-consistent. batter, getting better averages 30 now i think)
Gilchrist
Ruttles (Played 3 tests averages -20)
Lee
Tait

ODI team

Cosgrove (Usally try and keep his strike rate at 55-65, will get you 50+ 8/10 matches)
Jacques (Went off last year, back into form this year averages 80+ after i htink 5 matches)
Watson
Gilchrist
Ponting
D.Hussey
Hayden
White
Lee
Ruttles
Tait

I bat Hayden lower in the innings so he doesn't hafta bat for as long, in his old age he often starts off quick and fades away, so if i can get him in for 30, 40 balls he will get me 50 or 60 more the often. D.Hussey is that low because he saves the match a lot of the time if top order busts. Often make 300+ on any pitch, although rather bowl first the often chase me down.

Anyway, will give you another update next year.

Just out of interest, what age was your oldest player when he retired.

Mine usually retire at 38.

Just thought I would bump this back to the top, I said on the last page I was struggling to find a good pace bowler, well one came along in the shape of Michael Clark of WA, LMF bowler, has been great for the side, and cameron white is starting to rip oppisition teams apart with the ball.

Test Side

Jaques
Benton
Ponting
Hussey
Watson
Clarke
Gilchrist
White
Lee
Clark
Hauritz/Pointer (depending on whether its a spinner's pitch or quicks)

Up to 2009, ICC Ratings are 3rd in Tests, 1st in ODI, ICC Player Ratings are Ponting, D.Hussey, Jaques, Benton, Gilchrist all in top 10 Test Batting, White only bowler in top 10 of Test Bowling, Ponting and Gilchrist in top 10 of ODI Batting, and White and Watson in top 10 of ODI Bowling.

These are the players that my test team usally consists from these days

Test Stats

Player Matches HS AV 100 50
Jacques 41 185* 43.91 8 17
Usally Opens batting or goes at 3.

Ponting 131 257 58.52 38 46
Most consistent player averages about 100 so far this year in 8 innings with 0 not outs. Bats at 3 or 4

Cosgrove 20 1299 104 38.21 1 11
Dissapointing player, Though often saves the innings though. Bats at 4 or 5

Hayden 105 10055 380 56.81 37 39
Like Ponting, awesome player he is 38 now so probably will retire after this year bats at 5 or 6

D. Hussey 19 matches 1695 149 49.85 6 7
Awesome stuff, definatley will play 100+ tests always plays well

A. Gilchrist 110 6476 204* 42.89 14 28
Good keeper not a great batter, usally bats at 8

Watson 52 3825 166 46.77 9 17
Opens batting with Jacques ATM. Usally makes at least a 50 per game

White 21 825 79 23.57 0 4
Okay not great batting stats, but when he gets in you at least feel clam he will make over 30.

BOWLING
Player Matches Overs Wickets Av Best 5WI
Gillespie 63 2192 236 26.18 7-37 8
Plays every now and then, plays 3 good matches then 3 bad ones. Stays in the lineup for the time being

Lee 65 2182 235 31.87 6-72 9
Plays about 7 out of every 10 matches, similar player to Gillespie, except more expensive

Mansfield 11 347 34 33.06 6-110 1
Funny kind of player, averages 20 in first class matches, though some matches will get 0-220 (in tests) then next match 9-100

Tait 41 1392 140 36.86 6-88 4
My favourite test bowler, opens bowling gets 1-2 wicktes in 5 overs then he struggles doesn't bother me aslong as he gets top order out

Watson 52 1672 135 43.55 6-50 4
Meh, he's a good 3rd change bowler

White 21 812 65 43.18 5-118 1
Often takes 4 wickets, though will often take 0..he's my only spinner.

And thats it atm.

I'm playing as Sri Lanka at the moment (something different) and I recalled a 29-year-old named Kodekara after 5 years in the wilderness. He came off a 17 match season averaging 58 with 4 tons and 7 50s, so I recalled him. Before this he'd played 7 Tests for an average of 22 but came back out of nowhere and made 306* followed by 50* in the same match. What a legend :thumbsu:

I have a player who I think was generated by the game. Ian Pernham is a 19 year old wicketkeeper. He is probably the best Australian wicket keeper but no good with the bat (at least at Australia level since his first class and one day stats are ok). I play him whenever I can afford to rest Gilchrist and always put him in the squad and put the batting technique coaching thing on him.

I am still having no luck with bowling after McGrath and Warne retire. Probably due to my lack of tactics.

yeah im not sure if its tactics or crapness, as i have always struggled when they retire too, considering usually my spinner is cam white its pretty bad, no Dan 'The Man' Cullen or Cullen 'WOS' Bailey makes it difficult

have they EVER released an update like they promised? pathetic if they havent, glad i didnt pay for it

Just got this score.

Ponting = legend.

My best ever ODI score in this game

Am in 2010 season.

Yeah lol, almost like real life that scorecard, what was the result :p

I think my highest was 420. Posted somewhere on the net, cricketweb or planetcricket. Can't remember, been way too long since ive played ICC TBH.

Ponting pulled off this amazing season, definaltey the best season eve rhad by a player of mine

sb35fm.jpg

His test season included 3 200s and his ODI season was huge....3 centuries off under 70 balls inclduding a 152 off 98.

Best ever player Australia has ever had/.

Here are my current career statistics for India, the season ended is 2010/11

I have finally settled on a bowling team, they are Lee, Tait, Rofe, White and sometimes Anthony Cash. Hopefully Cash can overtake White. Watson is a great part timer can get wickets.

How does everyone else bowl? What agression? Do you bowl opposite to the batsmen's preferences?
I used to bowl opposite to the batsmans preferances but it cant be bothered anymore, sometimes if im getting smashed i might change them and/or go around the wicket.

I usualy just leave the aggresion on 3 for bowling, but if a good batsman is going ill drop it down to 2 or 1. If a real dud comes in, im dominating and cant lose or at the start of the innings ill put the aggresion up. Ive found that starting the innings on 4 is quite good but once theyve gotten to 30 i usualy put it back to 3.
