In the Epic category: any of the 60's war movies with thousands of extras marching around (Battle of Britain, Lawrence of Arabia, Waterloo, War & Peace)
There is overlap with rediscovering Oscar winners and realizing how effin good they were: (LoA, Guns of Navarone, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca,
I've seen every movie listed here so far. Hard to give an Iconic rating. I tend to add extra weighting for quotable lines. :winkv1:

Love your list to begin with. Great selection. :thumbsu:

I genuinely believe most if not all of those are iconic movies that you should watch, as opposed to some listed on here that while great/good movies are not iconic.

Very envious, I would love to be watching them for the first time. Just a heads up, some of those are very long movies, Im talking 2.5hrs, some go close to 3hrs.

Which ones would you say are NOT iconic?

That list of yours that I quoted in my last post, I think all of those are not only iconic but would be liked by the majority in here.

It would be a great start.

Great film. Could be a good idea to see how the format of the film is laid out before watching. I got lost trying to follow it when I started watching it, so I looked it up, then went back to it where it made way more sense.

Iconic I think also denotes a bit of 'classic' or memorable in its meaning. It's an icon of its genre or era.

Blazing Saddles (how did I forget this one)
Better Off Dead
High Fidelity
Airheads
The Longest Yard (original Burt Reynolds)
any or all Clint Eastwood westerns
all or any Dirty Harry movies
Blade Runner (original)
Highlander
Life of Brian and Holy Grail

Crossing one off the list - we watched The Birdcage tonight. SO MUCH FUN. Nathan Lane had me in stitches.

Arnand: Al, you old son of a bitch! How ya doin'? How do you feel about that call today? I mean the Dolphins! Fourth-and-three play on their 30 yard line with only 34 seconds to go!

Albert: How do you think I feel? Betrayed, bewildered... wrong response?

Actually that's exactly how I feel about Essendon right now.
