I would love it if Penbelbury got a Brownlow but can't see it this year.

As good a chance as he's ever had IMO.

He's having his best and most consistent individual season (has had just two games with less than 25 disposals, and in both of those he "only" got 23), hasn't missed a game, is playing in a finals side. He gets a huge amount of the footy, uses the ball exquisitely, tackles, wins clearances, kicks goals. Seems to tick all the boxes for a Brownlow season IMO.

Ah well I hope Pendles is in with a show, after all.
I haven't heard anyone suggest Jack I must say. (Except Swans supporters.) Is he having that good a year?

Selwood.

If Ablett was suspended I wonder if the Suns will huff and puff about it as much as the Bulldogs did after Chris Grant was ruled ineligible.

As the Dogs should have :) Are you aware of the unique circumstances behind that suspension??

I'm going to be unpopular here but I think if you're found guilty of a non-finable offence you should be ineligible (even if you only cop a reprimand)

What, him doing the deed and getting pinged for it?

No, the part about him being the only player in history reported by an official. It's not unique to have all three umpires being called to give evidence in the players defence?

Don't do the deed, and you don't put yourself in that position. Harsh, but true.

I would say Swan or Selwood. Both are coming home strong, but Selwood's goals may get him over the line

Are people forgetting their some of the poorer (by their standards) games they both played in the first half of the season? I mean, Selwood had a month there (rounds 7-10) where he barely averaged 20 touches a game, and people were all over Swan at the start of the year.

Don't forget that Selwood's first 5 games could see he have 10-15 votes

Selwood started off great, had that lean patch as you said, then is coming home strong now, only Johnson will be taking some votes off him, but majority were during that lean patch i would assume.

Swan and pendlebury will be taking a lot of votes off each other.

Swan and Pendlebury have both polled 20+ votes simultaneously in the past, and Swan's start to the year wasn't anything to write home about.

That's what half your supporters are saying tonight as they sleep in their cells

Should I be hurt or offended by this comment in some way?

I'm not sure if you're aware how the Brownlow works... You don't have to poll votes every game to win

Selwood or Griffen. Jack has McVeigh, Hannebery, O'Keefe etc. to compete with. Swan and Pendles will take votes off each other.

I never understand the oft-repeated myth of "stealing votes". Didn't affect Black, Bartel, Akermanis, etc. when they were in ridiculous midfields. If Ablett doesn't win this year then Selwood would be my bet.

I realise that, but obvious logic shows that if you have extended poor periods during a season, it will damage your chances of polling enough votes to win.

Whom am I to decide how you react to a comment. I, nor anyone else, should tell you how to feel.

Well the whole intent of such a comment would be to hurt or offend, no? It certainly doesn't count as any sort of valid argument against what was actually being discussed.
