There's no doubt that those 3 losses impacted on our season.

We were in the game/in front against Gold Coast/Lions at half time, and when they made a push we folded like a cheap tent. The level of emotional investment required to dig in just wasn't there. Same thing with Port. We were able to get on top of them and close the gap to 10 or so points. One goal then saw us pack up our bat and ball and go home metaphorically speaking and Port piled on about 6 more goals with little resistance.
Yep, we played shit. And where does any of your comment address the bit in the headline or the quoted posters comment that West Coast’s ‘moaning’ cost us come finals. Maybe we didn’t manage fitness as well as others in unprecedented times, or did not manage the distractions well. Two of the three teams we played finished 1 and 2 in the season.

There are potentially many reasons we did not get started well. Yet, the official website of the league would rather use derogatory language as its headline. Not much of this would bother me if they had the capacity to do some quality journalism and analysis, but all they are good at is slinging a bit of mud with a sound bite or sloganist headline, while accepting the hypocrisy of the bullshit flowing recently that West Coast got an unfair advantage by sleeping in their own beds. 🤢🤮

I would’ve though our 2017 after the siren, extra time win from 8th was better than the pies on the weekend??
Felt more like Port lost it compared to us winning it. They only turned up halfway through the second quarter and their inaccuracy kept us in the game both normal and extra time. plus a questionable free to Shuey gave us the winning goal.

Pies played brilliantly and got the job done. Cant compare the games imo.

I was devo for the rest of the finals series after that loss, and super bitter that they won it all. For comparison I'm already over last Saturday.
Agree. I was over it 5 mins after.

The whole year was/is a shitfest

One of my most memorable finals was Nick Davis single handedly burying the cats dreams. I think is much better than what we witnessed on the weekend. Vic media just trying to get some wind in the sails to galvanise the pies.

It's a good point, and I'm sure the vicmedia see it, but don't believe it.

Fans come up with some truly lame heckles huh.

It was enjoyable going back and forth and I guess to get the first one (goal), then talk a bit of smack back and forth.
One of them told me to "go get coronavirus like your president" and that didn’t sit too well.
So I kicked the second one and looked back at them again.
And kicked the third one, and I think they were all sitting down by that point.

Cheer squad fans have to be the biggest nuffs in sport

I was just off to the side of the cheer squad. I didn’t hear anyone scream what Cox claims. What I did see was that numpty goading the crowd by gesturing his hand like Bruce Lee or Neo from the matrix. Like cmon is that all you got after he arsed his marks and goal.

Bloody hell, go back and re-watch that game (it is a cracker). We absolutely jumped Port, Darling was massive with 2 goals in 10 mins, and they were on the ropes halfway through the 2nd. They came back but we were good enough to pull away.

Very similar to Saturday, Pies jumped us and everytime we got back in front, they pulled away.

Lol, we were sitting down the other end behind the goals and absolutely gave it to him in the second and fourth quarters where he did precisley bugger all. Nothing stupid like what he claimed, just telling him how bad he was at football.

Also gave Maynard an earful, kept reminding him how he was blocked in the grand final.

So what’s this I heard today about Razor ray saying to McGovern, when he got pinged for stepping over the boundary line, “this isn’t 2018” not sure what he would mean by that?? Seems like a strange thing for an umpire to say to a player??

Was he even umpiring our game?

His voice travelled from Adelaide where he umpired Thursday night??

Must not have been razor, just heard on 6pr this arvo someone text in a question, asking about the umpire saying that to McGovern, I think they said Razor, must’ve meant that number 21 flog who screwed us in the first quarter. It was the first time I’d heard about it??

The alleged heckle was no pig on the field that's for sure.

Anyone else sick of hearing about Mason Cox's apparent Carey-esque performance on the weekend? Unstoppable!

Credit to him for helping Collingwood get off to a fast start but he kicked 3 goals in a 5 minute stretch of fast ball movement, one of which came from McGovern's dubious deliberate out of bounds which took him away from the goal square. Outside that 5 minute burst he had 2 marks, 1 kick, 2 handballs and 0 scoring shots for the remainder of the game.

Meanwhile Jack Darling 13 touches, 6 marks, 3.2. Josh Kennedy 10 touches, 6 marks, 3.4.

Just reminded me of the brave job Tyson Goldsack did on Josh Kennedy who spent the 2018 QF blowing out cobwebs after an injury layoff en route to a 12 disposal, 6 mark, 2.4 game. It was impressive by Goldsack to come straight in for a QF and play on a bigger, better opponent but everyone knew that Kennedy easily had him covered but was rusty after being out.

I heard the umpire say "that rule changed 2 years ago" when Gov was disputing Mihocek's mark in the last quarter, not sure if that's what they were referring to. I didn't see the deliberate OOB call live.

Gov was claiming hands in the back on the Mihocek mark. Thus the 2 years comment.

Obviously changed back after that call, because it didn’t get called on two other occasions against the pies.

It was clearly deliberate, he didn’t disguise it, but **** me there was two the exact same later on they didn’t call.

Yeah Gov's stupid free was there. Weak as piss, but there. Bloke needs a good bake over the offseason - good at floating around the back half taking uncontested grabs, lazy as f*ck when asked to do anything else.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, it's the inconstancies that drive people mad, not the free kicks themselves.
