.....they'd without a doubt, be Richmond. The resemblence is uncanny.

Brendan Nelson, a good bloke to have in your side, but certainly isn't leadership material, meet Kane Johnson.

Is "move Richo to CHF/one out in the goalsquare/on a wing" any different to "move Turnbull to cabinet/treasurer/leader"?

Tony Abbott, the bloke that no matter what he does, everyone still dislikes him. Gotta be Greg Tivendale.

Joel Bowden: Been around long enough for us all to know he has a lot more to offer than sitting in the backline taking it easy. Peter Costello: Been around long enough for us all to know he has a lot more to offer than sitting on the backbench taking it easy.

Nathan Brown. Like Julie Bishop, there'll always be questions about whether he's man enough for the job.

Kevin Bartlett - short, balding man notorious for never handballing it off to someone else, who once he left, never to return, the place hasn't been the same since. Fill in the blanks.

Kayne Pettifer - a good player in a good team, but when given the chance of extra responsibility, is shown up for being a bit of a mummy's boy. Nowadays, you'd barely notice he's still there. Alexander Downer for sure.

Andrew Robb - Shoehorned into a golden position based on mate's he'd made at a previous job. We're not sure what he's done to deserve such a safe portfolio/seat just yet. Gotta be Jordan McMahon.

This one is quite good. :thumbsu:

The rest? A bit of a stretch.

I would have thought that Essendon are the better analogy...?

They replaced the iconic, successful heart and soul of the team with some new guy who is sort of ok, but seems out of his depth and complains a lot about his playing stock being depleted due to bigger names being unavailable for first grade action.

The side is made up of players who are handy, but performed much better when they were built around of a side that included a number of more skilful and dynamic players.

They had a fairly successful run over a fair period of time, but are now underachieving given they have a number of quality players on the list and sitting in the cellar and appear that they will stay there for at least the next 3-6 years.

As much as it pains me to say it, they resemble West Coast atm. They were coasting along at the top, but have lost number 1 (the unlikeable but professional Howard - Judd) and number 2 (the more likable but ultimately a pratt Costello - Cousins) and the new guard just aren't up to it.

Nelson wasn't anyone's first choice as leader, and is seen as a safe option (Glass). If the party was on the up, big Mal Turnbull would probably be the preferred leader (Cox). Abbott threw his hat into the ring, but given part of his brain seems to be missing, he wasn't considered (Kerr).

Loved it (sorry, Scotland). :)

Damned fine piece of work that, as is the OP. :D

Stop it. I feel bad enough after tonight.
