If you could change the result of one grand final...

2004 - The Lions played the last 5 quarters of 2003 magnificently - the other side of the coin - Port deserved a premiership for their efforts in 2004 and previous seasons

1990 - if collingwood didn't get this flag it would make it longer since they won their last flag compared to us...

1998 - we finished 4th and played adelaide who finished 5th... we belted them, but both sides had to play the following week in a sudden death final... we got nothing out of winning that match... lost in the prelim to a north team, which choked on grand final day...

hahaha 2004 has been said many times

1998 for me

kangaroos choked big time, 4.10 or something at half time?

crows being remember for doing a back to back, and hence being looked at as a team 10x better than what they really were (yep, a troll, but an honest answer to the thread)

6.15.51 to 4.3.27 at halftime (8.22.70 to 15.15.105 final score) :(

What would have happened if melbourne won this game against collingwood
Melbourne + 1 premiership:thumbsu:
Collingwood -1 premiership:thumbsu:
Melbourne win SIX PEMIERSHIPS IN A ROW:thumbsu::thumbsu::)

Agreed. Crows were a very average side to go B2B.

Gee.

I'd have to go with 1997. Without doubt the softest flag I've ever seen. Also there is a special bitterness about this one for Geelong supporters. We finished 2nd, lost the first final when Carey kicked 7.:thumbsdown: Then were forced to play Adelaide (who finsihed below us!) in Adelaide!! Leigh Colbert mark disallowed...say no more. They then stumbled over the line against the Bulldogs and defeated a nervous St Kilda team who, despite finishing top that year were not that good.

Blah Blah Blah....... check out how many non-Victorian clubs had to play finals in Melbourne despite earning a home final during the '90s and early 2000s. As for Colberts mark, Cats supporters always seem to forget Bickley's boot!

My selection.....2005

1992 Night Grand Final

Hawthorn 19.14 (128) d. Fitzroy 8.15 (63)

Reaching the GF was one of the few moments of hope for Fitzroy in those last few years :(

And for the same reasons, the 1986 Preliminary Final

Hawthorn 16.14 (110) d Fitzroy 7.12 (54)

and for Fitzroy to go on and win the big one the next week :thumbsu:

Norm Smith medal: M. Conlan.

You beat me to it, that would be some record to claim. We also lost the 54 GF to the doggies.

From my club I would have to change the 2005 result.

From another club I would have to change the 2004 would have loved to see Brisbane win 4 in a row.

I'd like to switch around '68, because it would leave us on 17 flags to Carlton's 15. The Bombers only lost that Grand Final to the Blues by 3 points. or maybe 1947, when the Bombers lost to the Blues by a point 11.19.85 to 13.8.86. Switch either of those two around.

For Grand Finals that don't involve my team... I'd like to reverse the 1995 result. The 1996 result too. I always like to see the Swans do well.

At the time I was pretty devastated about the 1997 result, but in retrospect it's not that bad. It enhanced the national competition, as all flags to the non-Victorian sides have done.

I was devastated about 1992 when it happened too, but like above, in retrospect it helped the national comp come of age, which was a good thing. I'm happy West Coast won now, in retrospect. It really made the AFL come of age.

So yeah probably 1995 or 1996 of modern times. 1988 would have been a great story for Melbourne fans (and most neutrals) if they had won the flag.

Adelaide was more lucky than deserving in snaging the 97 and 98 flags, i'd change those two.

As for my own side, I know the Dees were never going to get near Essendon in 2000 but just imagine if they had come out and knocked them off.
