Bullshit. We played West Coast already this year and beat them comfortably. We played Collingwood twice and won both. Why would we worry about either team?

We were lucky? Aha. We finished 3 games clear on top, had clearly the best points for, clearly the best points against, our percentage was miles better than anyone else, and we won 19 of our last 20 games. Including 2 finals victories (against the 2nd and 4th placed teams incidentally) by over 100 points. Bearing in mind there had only been 4 such margins in finals in 110 years previously.

Remind me why we would have been afraid of West Coast? Or anyone else?

Hawthorn is so much better than Geelong because:

(1) They beat Geelong in the 1989 GF
(2) They have beaten Geelong in the last three encounters
- but don't mention 2004 and 2005 where Geelong won by 56 points and 55 points

Just posting a quick thread here to apologise to all Hawks fans for the sub-standard trolling you have received from people who claim to be fellow Geelong fans. rainmaker, geelong_crazy26 etc. are really struggling to come up with anything decent and for that, I apologise.

However, I must say that we Cats fans need a little understanding from Hawks fans also. I mean, I have tried to no end to troll you guys, whether it be about the drug problem, or the choke to the Roos in the Semi or the old Poo and Wee chestnut, but I'm just not feeling it anymore.

I've figured out that in order to be a good troll, you really need to be in a position where you're team hasn't got much going for them, because otherwise you have no reason to try and belittle other supporters and their teams.

It's really hard for us Cats supporters to do that, because as you may well know, we have just come off the back of one of the most successful years in football history. That therefore means I don't really have the will anymore to have a dig at other sides, because I have no one to knock off the top except other Cats supporters.

So please, understand it's tough for us to troll, because we Geelong supporters have no reason to belittle you anymore, our team managed to do it for us.

Saying we cannot beat Hawthorn is utterly ridiculous. We actually had more scoring shots than you in round 4, yet lost by 4 points. If one of our behinds was more accurate, just one, then we'd have won by a point. Hardly a case of not being able to beat you. We just didn't make the most of our chances on the day. Simple as that.

As for the crap about Geelong fans hoping we don't play you in the finals, or grand finals in particular, I think most Geelong fans would have welcomed a chance to play Hawthorn in the finals this year. I know I did.

Unfortunately, Hawthorn were simply not good enough to make the grand final or play us at any stage in the finals. Now that is a fact!
