Now you tit, go and have a look at the AFL stats for frees for and against by team for 2008. I think that you will find that Hawthorn has one of, if not the worst differential for frees for and against in the AFL.
Franklin almost certainly has the worst differential of any player.

Pretty simple really. Geelong were carried all season by incredible cheating.
Then at the last minute Scott McLaren gets called up (for no reason and no explanation) to umpire the Grand Final.
100K people (yes Cats fans included) and millions on TV all saw what he did.
He didn't make mistakes.
He didn't get some wrong.
HE CHEATED !!!

Let me just first clarify by saying, i too think McClaren is a fuknukle, but after watching the GF about 145 times he isnt actually the worst of the three out there
The two senior umpires did a reasonable job, it was the young guy, forget his name, that by far was the worst of the lot

Taz try to be a bit nicer to our cousins North of the border, the educational sector in NSW is really struggling, lack of funds and all you know
C'mon fellow Hawks. maclaren and the like are morons, but using our free kick stats isn't totally right. We - and Buddy - play close to the edge of what is fair and what is unfair. We do it cosistently, obvisouly and it's part of our game plan. You have to take the good with the bad. Take our premiership - accept why we're on the wrong side of the umps and enjoy the wins we get from playing our hard style. HOPEFULLY it doesn't cost us in an imoprtant match.
NB: that doesn't excuse those FREAKS from those embarrassing decisions in the GF!
