Chris graduated from LaTrobe University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and has worked extensively in private practice and elite sporting environments since.

In 2004 Chris completed a Masters in Exercise Rehabilitation and gained subsequent accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist.

Chris currently works at the Collingwood Football Club and has done so for over 10 years in total as Rehabilitation Coordinator. He has been the club runner for a number of these years and continues in this role for season 2015.

Chris has previously worked at Albert and Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centers prior to a stint on the Sunshine Coast working in private practice and more specifically with elite surf and kayaking athletes.

Chris has extensive experience treating a wide range of injuries to workers, recreational and elite athletes and the general population and has a focus on active rehabilitation and management appropriately designed to the client’s needs.

Doesn't really fill me with confidence...

According to the Club's website Chris Howley has been moved to High Performance Manager for Netball not AFL so it doesn't surprise that the Herald Sun is getting things wrong again! - You can see some other changes to roles as well on the new staff listing, few different job titles, role changes, etc

Yeah I checked that earlier and thought the same thing.

Staff list entering 2017 (and other years) can be viewed using the link below. Looks like rumours regarding Kevin White getting a promotion were on the money. Amongst the changes

  • Our high performance department has been renamed Strength & Conditioning
  • Marasco has also moved under our netball umbrella
  • Seville and Dooley are no longer listed as staff
  • Shipperd moves up from VFL Physiotherapist
  • Baird-Colt, Paulo and Lazarus appear to be new appointments (they weren't listed as staff in 2017; although neither was Ryan Power who was our VFL forwards coach, so the staff list isn't 100% accurate)

EDIT: Baird-Colt is the ballet coach who's previously worked with Reid and others, Paulo has previously worked at the demons, broncos and titans, assuming he's one and the same Lazarus is currently studying a PHD in "Maximising performance and minimising injury in elite Australian footballers"

Love the appointment of Baird-Colt. She’s the only reason Reid still has a career after Davoren buggered him up imo.

I really feel sorry for Reid now.

So 4 year and under players back next Wednesday ?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
Yes!

Training return:
The Magpies' first-to-fourth-year players will resume on November 8, while the more experienced players are due back on November 20. They will hold a training camp on the Gold Coast in early January and their community camp in February will take them to Victoria's La Trobe Valley and the Northern Territory.

So it looks like that's one less thing for people to complain about.
There are currently five -yes, five - staff listed as performance analysts. Plenty of fat there.
Why two club doctors?
Why are there three strength and conditioning staff - s&c coach, strength program co-ordinator, and the ludicrously titled movement weights specialist? Why hire a High Performance manager and pay him somewhere around the $500k mark when you then need to go and spend maybe another $200k on those two or three redundant positions?

The review was a sham, so it's pointless using it as an example. Kevin White is a knowledgeable person - but as far as I'm aware, he has never held a position as Head, or even 2IC, of High Performance in any amateur or professional sporting organisation. He lacks the exposure to different sports and methods that such a position should entail.

Interesting to read the thoughts of someone with knowledge of the topic.
