Not that it is a major problem for this season, but heard on the weekend that young Campbell Heath has badly damaged a knee and might need a reconstruction. Makes it hard for a young player in rehab who was going to be away from the group because of schooling in Victoria anyway.

This is a bugger both for the club and the youngster.

Heath was going to be working a fitness plan the club was putting in place and like Currie possibly play a few games in Canberra during School breaks.

If its a reco it will delay his development and make next year more consolidation than push for selection.

Roowatch with your info it would be good if you could keep us up to date with his progress.

Heres hoping there is no reco needed.

He was named in the 29 Man Squad to play Melbourne on Thursday. So unless he did his knee at school sometime Friday, that would be news to most of us. Plus Roos didn't say anything at the Aftermatch event when speaking about injuries (only rated a "nothing major to report", "no injuries out of the game" and "everyone's training well")

If true he'll rehab for the season in Melbourne and finish his schooling. Shouldn't hold him back in term of development because he isn't going to be at the club anyway and if anything his rehab will more than likely be more intence than the training he would of done.

Still wait for official word before writting his season off.

apparently had a minor stumble whilst training for gippy power. that's how easily shit things like this happen.

can pretty much confirm he's getting it reconstructed.

all the best cambo:thumbsu:

Mal's operation?

He's the guy we were expecting to be a 150 game player isn't he? So surely getting him back out quickly to work on fittness and so on in time for next year getting a senior call up potentially...

Oh wow that's true, hadn't thought of that. Means Gillie could get upgraded come to think of it, because Gillie's the kind of guy who COULD get a call up, and is equivelant to Hannebury.

Unless Roos just wants to bring up Pyke and Murphy for Round 1.

I dont think Gilli is going to get a call up soon. If he was under consideration for round 1 I think he would have played in one of the games so far.

Given comments from yesterday saying that by midway through the season if the senior blokes are letting us down, Roos WILL turn to youngsters, I suspect that'll be the time that Orreal and Gillie and so on will get the call up - how many Rookies can play after Round 16?

So I suspect it'll be Pyke and Murphy.

None if we have not player on the Long Term Injury List at that Time. We only have Leo Barry on that list at this stage and he is expected back around Round 3-5 and hence will be off it by then. Campbell Heath will more than likely end up on the list shortly but as it stands. By Round 5 we won't be able to promote a Rookie with someone on the Senior List getting injuried for longer than 8 weeks and being put on the LTIL. Plus you can't add players to the LTIL after a certain point in the season (I think Round 16 is that point) nor promote a rookie.
