A few facts re injuries.

The latest injury figures available were released in July 2018 and cover the 2017 season.

Regarding calf injuries (average per club):

New injuries: 2.35 per season.
Games missed: 6.29 per season.
Recurrence (same leg): 4% (League trend is falling: 2013-16%; 2014-16%; 2015-8%; 2016-4%; 2017-4%).

I wonder if the review compared our calf injuries to the latest injury figures?

I'm sure we've had more that double the average new calf injuries per season already after pre season and two games.

I think Ross was highlighting the problem in his own way last week, saying SHill had injured his calf while in rehab for his hamstring and this should be announced. But was it? S&C only says TBA for SHill. No one would know this had happened except for the sneaky comment by Ross and it was reported by some commentators as well. Someone protecting their turf perhaps?

This has been my number one issue with these S and C clowns(along with like eshed said the constant mismanagement of shills injury’s,-(in particular the bewildering decision to have him train all early pre season pre Christmas, only then to get to the Xmas break and THEN decide “yeah , nah it’s probably better he go in to surgery after all!” )
seriously wtf?
Syntax error - you're missing one closing bracket.

Warning: nerd joke:)

We seem to generate more inj at Peel than playing for Freo. Need to ban Peel and just train with virtual reality headsets.

You can put Carlton’s list to severe bad luck. Knee is a structural injury caused often by acute damage. Docherty a key example.
It’s a stark contrast to Freo. Whereas managing what was meant to be acute injuries becomes chronic before long. It’s the mismanagment of muscular injuries which is clear.
Looking at Carlton’s list, there’s not one soft tissue injury, beside from the back injury. Contradicts your point. Richmond’s injury list has been minimal and slate free. Management clearly do it properly. Rance is an acute impact injury whereas Riewoldt as a result of forceful impact.

Could it be the ground- Freo Oval was notorious for this- that has continued on to Cockburn? Or just the loading programs coming from a Rugby Union background in Weber? Surely the club has done or if needs be do a thorough review of injuries. Bennell especially. Sandi and Hill. Stephen Hill returning to AFL not for one or two games then gets reinjury clearly shows the management not being carried out.
Knee injuries often are due to a susceptibility.

It's going to be hard to field a good side when you get one first round pick a year to fill twenty two spots with the average career being six seasons and the difference between an average/bad side and a great side is a handful of elite players.
West coast and many other mangage even though their first round picks have almost always been lower than our.

We had pick 5 (compensation for Neale) and pick 6 last year but we decided to trade them. So its less about what your saying and more about what the club philosophy is.

So Logue is listed with a hamstring injury and est 2/3 weeks. How long has he been injured and is this a different injury that he first got injured?

SHill is listed with a quad injury and TBA, but Ross said he injured a calf while rehabbing.

So how many others on the injury list are there because they've injured or re injured before getting back?

Sandi - Calf Yes, Bennell - Calf Yes, Logue - Hammy? Blakely - Hammy? Cox - Hammy?

Still too many questions about what really is going on.

Not really.

We have a mid 30's giant carrying a calf injury - hardly unusual.
A player that didn't look after his body in a professional way for years now suffering a string of calf injuries - hardly unusual.
Logue while not ideal, guys do injury hamstrings from time to time. The reoccurrence is annoying however.
Blakley a once off injury that seems to be recovering well and should be ready in 2 weeks.
Hill is an issue undoubtedly.
Cox injures a hammy, comes back in the usual 21 days and player on the weekend. All good.
Ballas is a 30+ year old with hamstring history and a funky running style. Soft tissues for him are hardly unusual and TBH we are better off without him playing anyway.
Switta injures a hammy, missed the usual 21 days and is back playing.

I think we are all getting a little carried away here.

Agree with you about Sandi but not Bennell. He only mid 20's and hasn't played for 2 years directly because of how his calf injury have been treated by our S&C department.

With SHill, he injured a calf while rehabbing his quad which caused him problems all last year. However this has been kept a secret by the S&C dept. How many other are like him and have been kept secret?

Blackley?? Logue?? How long in total have these two been out with their hamstring problems and still have 2 or 3 weeks to go?

Hopefully Cox and Switta who haven't been with us for long don't get re injured, but who knows?
