As soon as Fyfe passes the standard concussion tests he should be back, just like any other player. Calls for some special never before seen mandatory time off are ridiculous.

Not ridiculous if it is treated more like a minimum and erring on the side of safety. For example, miss 1 or 2 matches after they have passed the tests. You could mount an argument that a simple concussion is actually a more serious injury than an ACL.

I wouldn't assume those standard tests are foolproof. There is still a lot more to be understood. Players have passed tests before and then played and said they were not right. Jordan Lewis springs to mind. That was a while ago. The tests back then might have been inadequate. But who knows if the tests are still inadequate?

I remember Selwood missing the following week after being knocked out in that clash with Ballantyne. Similar kind of collision although Selwood was still able to jog between trainers on the way to the bench.

Interesting that it's only Fyfe's concussion that's prompted a mandatory waiting period. How about if you want to discuss these woosha24 go do it with someone like the Saints and McCartin's issues. Or Bulldogs and Picken. It's pretty obvious why you don't want Fyfe to play this week.

Also everyone, I'm thread banning him so no need to continue replying to him.
That guy was lucky you banned him before I got on.

So uhhhh.. Joel Smith at Melbourne went from 2 weeks to 5 to TBC

I thought only our S+C team did things like that!

I reckon this is exactly and correct. They are not right for up to 5 weeks. Anyone who plays dream team and follows the players' stats can verify that their game suffers considerably after a concussion for up to 5 weeks. That's just one verification. The medical ones are more dire aren't they?

That's why I don't think 3 games is overkill for concussion. Especially when it's our Fyfe. I'm glad to support a team that sets player welfare above another derby loss and makes a statement re concussion. You go Fyfe.

And that is why the arsehat from west coast can go back to his board and if he is so interested and concerned about injuries and issues, why not discuss whether a large mass should be allowed to fly through the air with his knee up and bury it into someones ribcage or whether a seasoned player should be able to pay out on a kid and cause broken damage.

RTB says ultimately it's the player's call. I feel dubious about that. A player will always want to play. Head trauma is so significant I think a keen player should be protected from himself to a degree.

The player has to self report symptoms, there is no other way. If they have symptoms like headaches or dizziness, automatically they don't play. If they have no symptoms they get the neurocognitive testing to see if they pass. So it heavily relies on the player being honest.

Freo H2H paying:
$4.50 with Fyfe in
$6.00 with no Fyfe

Makes zero sense to play him. He will still win the Brownlow from 18 games.

Don’t think he should fly to GWS and rest up bulldogs in 2 weeks.

Let North play for him next two weeks learn the craft inside midfielder off the bench. Great opportunity for the young guy to understand what is required of a big body midfielder.

I’ll be there Saturday night. Gonna be a long night but zero stress related derby. Zero expectation to win, Eagles expected to win by 10 goals minimum.

Still 22 vs 22.

Teams with TBC/TBA/indefinite:
Carlton - 2
Pies - 4
Freo - 2 (had been 4)
Cats - 1
GWS - 2
Hawks - 2
Demons - 2
Roos - 3
Power -2
Tigers - 2
Saints - 3
Sydney - 3
WC - 1
WB - 1

Our non-defined lengths of injury fit in with everyone else's. If you add in season injuries (where sometimes players can come back) then we are mid pack.

I seriously hope this is the beginning of Bennell's way up back to glory. Guy has been set back so many times and deserves a chance to return to his best football. Good to hear about Blakely being so close and hope Bewley gets a chance to shine for Peel this week as will as Dixon next week. Thank **** for the Hill update
