Have you been watching footy long?

I've seen players leaving the field with an injury being physically targeted. I've seen our own fullback deliberately target his opponents injured hand. Pretty sure Harley would attract attention from his opponents to see if they can put him off his game, and that would include accidentally corking his thighs/calves/legs at any opportunity, just to see if he has any "awareness".

Sad, poor form, but this is true. It's been a while, but I used to work in back office (inc. media dept) of pro sports teams (v. briefly in AFL) and I can tell you that coaching staff will always side with 'as little information as possible' with this sort of thing in mind. It's not even about snipping acts ... sometimes it will simply be a notice for a players to opposition players to favour a side or another, or to force a player to put their arms above their head where they can (for example), so play behind more than in front. Even certain running patterns can be encouraged. It certainly happens and so, to a degree, I agree with your line of thinking.

That said, the clubs and their players earn a good living (most of them) from the professionalised sport. They have some responsibility to let the public know what's going on in reasonably good time. I don't hear you disagreeing with this BTW.

Exactly. Why would any club want to broadcast information about an injury than may mean they won't be kicking with their left foot, or can't get their arms up for an overhead mark.

Your post is about hiding an injury, then you add especially a soft tissue injury, but you included them all, and clubs report on all injuries not just soft tissue.

Are you really suggesting that clubs should post different reports for soft tissue injuries than broken hands, ribs etc? How about mental health issues; where would they sit in your club reporting criteria? That is what is being discussed here.

You really are a unique poster on here. You don't read what the other person writes in entirety, pick one word or phrase that is usually not reflective of the conversation, and go off on a complete tangent.
Never change, honestly, it keeps me coming back. Hilarious

Thank goodness for that. Beats the hell out of blurring in with the masses, but enjoy.

So far you have put up no credible answer to the idea that the club should give as little information as possible about injuries to its players. Nada. Zippo. Kosong.

Yeah, except for the fact it would piss most genuine supporters off, and the fact it would achieve nothing of benefit in return. You're a joke

I'm beginning to get the feeling I'm not going to get a "like" from you. Oh well. Just hit the ignore button if your struggling you genuine supporter you. Smart guy like you who apparently went through a superior edumacation system (private school 'n all was it eh?) should be able to figure that out.

serious question.....

on current form, are Peel favourites to beat west Perth?
No. That's not to say they can't win, but you did say on current form.

Peel are a mini version of Freo at the moment, they have the players, but don't put it together on the field.

Not even sure I'll bother going to the game, doesn't start until 4:30 and it's in south Geraldton.

You only have to see how Simpson, WC handled the Gaff hit, previously Sandi's ribs, NN has form.
Simpson, Mitchell are snipers, the worst part is Freo are soft, Nhyius is probably our toughest player, we need
enforcers, Sheedy always played one regardless.

I sort of wish Ballantyne was the thug the media make him out to be. We could give him a send off game in the derby.

Thing is though Ballantyne was nothing more than a pest. He was annoying to opposition - no more, no less.

Yeah, seen that.

I was told yesterday he definitely wasn't playing so assume if he is named his scans came back clear and his groin soreness has come good quicker then expected.
Can't explain that one sorry mate.
Didn't play. If it is OP, can be tricky. Hope they get a correct diagnosis and treat, time is on his side.

Daniher taking the year off then coming back playing 4 games this year and re-inflaming his OP, saying he may need an operation now?

Any news on Lobb after last night’s game? It looked for a moment he’d broken his leg the way he clutched at it, but thankfully he did stay on.

We need a strong ruck contingent against the Pies next week.
