Based on? I mean, realistically he's had a few good moments and 1 good quarter against Brisbane. Been average this year at absolute best and been close to worst on in a few games. Not saying he doesn't have potential, but the love he gets on here is ridiculously over the top.
Cox is benefitting from the the fact that he he doesn't get in Hogans road and is a smarter footballer than Taberner. He is about to turn 21 and people are saying oh well he might not get any better.Give me a spell. When Lobb comes back Cox will still be in the team.

Its crazy what Tabs would need to do to get some love on here. Far, Far ahead of Cox at this stage (and I wouldn't be surprised if he is until the boots get hung up). Tabs gets to a ridiculous amount of contests and is huge with his ability to read the long ball and get in the right area. The biggest problem we have with Tabs for mine is - since he's been out, when we've bombed aimlessly it hasn't been threatening and the players have realized the importance of lowering their eyes, him and Lobb make it to easy to blaze and then the likes of Hogan don't get on their bikes but also wait for that long ball, its predictable and dumb football. I don't really think we can blame these two for being - very good/elite in the contest, its the guys delivering. We need at least 1 of these 2 forward to compete in more scrappy games where we don't get our way so much and the use isn't as splendid, whether that's Rory or Tabs remains to be seen for mine (Lobb hasn't played forward for a long time).

Cox is smart, but he's very slow and doesn't take a lot of marks. Doesn't really get around the ground very well and the laconic look drives me insane. He hasn't really shown much to scream 'gun', but is definitely servicable and capable of taking his career somewhere. To this point in his career though he doesn't even deserve to be discussed in the same sentence as Tabs - who was easily our best KPF and around the mark for top 5 in the comp in the first part of this year.

Cox is definitely smarter and has far higher potential. It was always annoying watching Taberner lead his man into Hogans space and contest after Hogan made 3 leads to create that space for himself.

But you're kidding yourself if you think Taberner hasn't been our best tall forward this season. Clunking pack marks and making the best key defenders in the comp his bitch. It's just whether it's better long term, we do appear to be lowering our eyes more and hitting up leads without Tabs. If the current Tabs had Cox's footy nous we'd probably have the best forward line setup in the league. The big question is whether Cox has the drive and work ethic to reach his potential. That's my biggest unanswered question with him.

Will be interesting to add Lobb back into the mix

To me it seems our go to setup is 2 x KPF and one ruck.
For mine, that is Hogan/Lobb with Darcy ruck. All of our big fellas injury free and in form is going to make things interesting at the selection table.
I can see all of McCarthy, Cox and Tabs missing out.
Will take a setup like vs GC and we were very slow/lacking pressure in that game.

Shocking decision to bring hill straight in without wafl but I guess being a favourite gets you a free pass into the team
If we didn't bring him in and he had a run in the magoos people would probably be complaining about that.

Pretty much. Until Lobb comes back in anonymous we’re ****** for talls.

Cox and McCarthy for the next month

Wooooooo

The whole story about Lobb being an impact injury to me is suss. There must be a weakness, likely caused by the surface, which lead to a lesser impact causing a fracture. IMO he’ll reinjure and we’ll be baffled. Crappy sports and fitness iMO.
