AFLW 2024 - Round 6 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
May has never played more than 19 games in a season - 19 once, 18 twice, and 17 thrice. Between suspension and fitness it'll take a miracle (from Burgess and us making finals) to get him to play 22+ in 2019.May soft tissue trouble again. Not playing vs Saints and likely to miss another week according to Stevo on 7.
Hope Burgess gets acquainted with May quickly. We can't have him breaking down in 2020.
I’m assuming he’s missed more through suspension than injury before he joined us. Obviously Burgess can’t work miracles but I reckon soft tissues are preventable; the thorn in May’s lacklustre first season.May's

Playing catchup on fitness is usually a one way ticket to Soft Tissue Town. Hopefully he gets a full crack at it from day 1 in November, and he should hopefully keep himself on the park a fair bit more next year.I’m assuming he’s missed more through suspension than injury before he joined us. But yeah anymore than 18 games would be unrealistic to expect. History is there for a reason.
I have no doubt that a few weeks hanging out with Daniel Gorringe in the off-season will have his skin folds doubling in no time.Playing catchup on fitness is usually a one way ticket to Soft Tissue Town. You need a few beers to try and think of things that rhyme with his last name.I have no doubt that a few weeks hanging out with Daniel Gorringe in the off-season will have his skin folds doubling in no time.
Would lol if the media release was incorrect and its actually Matt Burgan taking over as head of fitness
Misson can hang out with Bill Davoren. They should form a help group for all sacked fitness gurus called 'it's not our ******** fault'. Davoren was replaced at the pies at the end of 2017, and guess what? No ******* difference. It's just window dressing. The club needs to look proactive.
Or we could wait for the new fitness guyKk ruled out for the year also. What a failed experiment that was. The underserved arrogance of our medical dept to even think they could get this guy healthy again. Delist
One failed year, if you remember it took a while to figure out how to get Brayshaw right. I'm not ready to call time on KK after one bad year, but we do need to get him right soonKk ruled out for the year also. What a failed experiment that was. Still doesn't mean you give up after 1 season.Repeat concussion symptoms and serious head/neck related injuries go beyond the scope of Darren Burgess, as experienced as he is. Kk should be sitting down with a doctor and asking serious questions about whether he is built for AFL football. Im not sure hes going to 'do a Gus' and work his way through it cause what ever he is doing is not working
As you say, on going for 3 seasons now, maybe a rookie spot at best not worth the riskRepeat concussion symptoms and serious head/neck related injuries go beyond the scope of Darren Burgess, as experienced as he is. What risk? It's a 44 man list FFS and we can place him on a long term injury list and replace him mid year if we have too.As you say, on going for 3 seasons now, maybe a rookie spot at best not worth the risk
We've had Corey ****ing Maynard on our senior list for 2 season, we can give KK at least anotherWhat risk? It's a 44 man list FFS and we can place him on a long term injury list and replace him mid year if we have too.
We've also had JKH, Smith X2, J.Wagner, Keilty and co floating around not doing a ****ing thing either. We've had Corey ******* Maynard on our senior list for 2 season, we can give KK at least another
3 years he has the same issue, why would you bother continuing down the same dumb path, there’s a reason GC were happy to piss him off for free, only fools would waste a spot on the list under those circumstancesWhat risk? He played 19 games in those 2 years as he was misdiagnosed early. You always bang on about high draft picks well we have one who's still young enough to get over his issues.3 years he has the same issue, why would you bother continuing down the same dumb path, there’s a reason GC were happy to piss him off for free, only fools would waste a spot on the list under those circumstances
