Decided to play a bit of an older save I'd started with Sri Lanka.

Up to the 2020-21 season, ranked 8th in Tests, 9th in ODIs and 8th in T20Is. Playing against South Africa (who are ranked 3rd in Tests, 6th in ODIs and 1st in T20Is respectively) in South Africa, manage to beat them 3-0 in the Test series without playing a spinner. Go down 2-1 in the ODIs, and beat them in the lone T20I.

By the time I play my next series a few months later, against Australia in Australia, I'm ranked 9th in Tests, 9th in ODIs, and 6th in T20Is, while they're ranked 2nd/3rd/4th respectively. Go down 2-1 in the Test series (again, playing without a spinner), tie the T20I series 1-1, and go 3-5 and miss the final in a competitive tri-series with that also includes Bangladesh.

This game can be pretty funny sometimes.

I'm always about 6-180. If tail wags I'll be lucky to get 300, if not I'm normally done for <250.

Roll on second innings and I can pretty much name my score, couple of hundreds etc.

Started a career with Leicestershire, they were the worst side I could see, and I am now bottom of every ladder everywhere.

A few questions:

-Is there a way to see a player's ability, or do you have to judge everyone on their first class/second team stats?
-At the end of the english season, I'm guessing I'll be able to delist some players, open up some budget and bring some decent players in? If not I'll probably end my Leicestershire journey.

I played that 2011 version for a few years and just went through the screenshots I took after awesome performances
here are the best ones:

Not sure why Deeb's FC bowling average is so strange and says he only took 61 wickets lol
there were a few 300s and 8fas/9fas which I missed

“Cricket Captain 2014” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Cricket Captain 2014” and download it again from the App Store."

Dafuq is this shit.

Files would be corrupted I'd say, happens with apps all the time. My iPhone did the same thing when I accidentally switched it off during updating.

Having played the game for a few years, it's pretty funny to think back about the guys that were dominant in the game, whose actual production IRL has since petered out, or hasn't really gone on with it at international level. Dale Deeb for example hasn't even played a game for South Africa IRL yet.

Remember Phil Hughes being utterly dominant (would average 65-70 in Tests, and 50+ in ODIs) in the 2009 Edition too :(

Gee that's terrible. You have to be an pretty pathetic team to lose to Bangladesh at a world cup :D
Next match we beat New Zealand by 126 runs...
Edit: I know I'm late, but *cough cough* England *cough cough*

I just had a tied test match with South Africa. Couldn't believe it, it looked like I had it in the bag - 8 down with two relatively set batsmen and 30 runs needed. Lose wicket with 6 more required. Scores tied and Hazlewood gets bowled.
