I guess we’re not all as brain dead as MAGA
**** off Carlson and leave Australia alone, we’re a thousands times better off than your country.

Surely Slippery Pete ... you have enough mates to attend Carlson?

Personally I don't know why we bothered letting him into Australia.

Would have thought he would have remained in the USA for the presidential debate...

Carlson’s visit highlights a key source of this divisive propaganda: the Kremlin.

This week, Tucker Carlson, one of America’s most notorious pro-Putin conspiracy-peddlers began a five-state tour across Australia. The tour is sponsored by Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer, the country’s biggest political donor and backer of the far right United Australia Party (UAP) whose slogan “Make Australia Great” borrows from the campaign of the former president and convicted felon Donald J. Trump. Why should Australians be concerned about Palmer’s latest American import, Carlson’s tour?

The tour follows Carlson’s recent trip to Moscow, where he conducted a two-hour interviewwith Russian President Vladimir Putin. The interview provided an unchecked platform for Putin to present revisionist history and propagate anti-West conspiracy theories, selling modern-day Russian imperialism to an American audience. He failed to question Putin on the ongoing investigation into his war crimes, or the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for kidnapping thousands of Ukrainian children. Within hours of Carlson’s broadcast laundering Putin’s atrocities, Trump declared that he would let Russia “do whatever the hell they want” to NATO member states.

Carlson’s advocacy of the Kremlin’s positions is so consistent that when US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned Republican Party members spreading Russian disinformation to obstruct aid to Kyiv, he singled out Carlson as the chief media figure “demonizing” Ukraine to support Putin’s war.

Good to see that he's struggling to sell tickets. Apparently they've been offered at up to a quarter of there initial price

On another note, I thought this video was worth a look

Trump has avoided answering every question.
The great deflector.
The great con man,
The great liar.

You'll have a hard job proving the BBC is biased bud!!

Before Thursday evening, many Americans had expressed concerns about Joe Biden’s age and fitness for office. To say that this debate did not put those concerns to rest may be one of the greatest understatements of the year.
The president came into the debate with a low bar to clear, and he stumbled. He was flat. He was rambling. He was unclear.
Roughly midway through the debate, the Biden campaign told reporters that the president was battling a cold - an attempt to explain his raspy voice. That may be so, but it also sounded like an excuse.
For 90 minutes, more often than not, Joe Biden was on the ropes. Particularly early in the evening, some of his answers were nonsensical. He ended one answer by saying, “We finally beat Medicare” – an odd reference to the government-run healthcare programme for the elderly.
Mr Biden's own former communications director Kate Bedingfield was on CNN immediately after the debate, and she was clear: "There's no two ways about it, that was not a good debate for Joe Biden."

She said his biggest issue was to prove he had the energy and the stamina, and he didn't do that.
As the debate progressed, like a boxer on the ropes, Mr Biden started to take big swings against his opponent in an attempt to change the momentum. A few of those swings may have landed, provoking the former president into angry responses
That the first few topics were on the top voter issues of economy and immigration - which polls suggest Americans trust Donald Trump more on - only made the problem worse for the president.
“I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence, and I don’t think he did, either,” Trump quipped after another Biden response. That line may have summed up the night.

A more focused Trump

The former president largely offered a disciplined, nimble performance. He avoided the kind of interruptions and belligerence that undermined his first debate showing in 2020 and turned the discussion back to attacks on Mr Biden’s record whenever possible.
He repeatedly made assertions that weren't supported by facts as well as outright falsehoods, but Mr Biden largely was unable to corner him on them.
When the topic turned to abortion, for instance, the former president repeatedly shifted attention to what he said was Democratic extremism. He claimed, incorrectly, that Democrats supported abortions after babies are born.
Abortion is an issue that has proven to be a weakness for Trump and Republicans in general since the overturning of Roe v Wade - which had protected the constitutional right to abortion - by the Supreme Court in 2022. But Mr Biden’s attacks in an area where he could have scored points fell flat.
“It’s been a terrible thing, what you’ve done,” the president said.

A fighter on the ropes

At times during this debate, President Biden effectively swung back, provoking former president Trump into angry responses.
In a memorable line, Mr Biden, noting Trump’s conviction on charges that stemmed from an alleged romantic liaison with adult film star Stormy Daniels, said the former president had “the morals of an alley cat”.
“I didn’t have sex with a pr0n star,” Trump snapped back.
Trump also appeared on the back foot when talking about his response to the 6 January attack on the US Capitol. He initially tried to turn a question about his responsibility for the Capitol riot into a condemnation of Mr Biden’s record, but this time the president wouldn’t let him off the hook.
“He encouraged those folks to go up to Capitol Hill. He sat there for three hours as his aides begged him to do something,” Mr Biden said. “He didn’t do a damn thing.”

In a nutshell

🤣😂😂🤣😂

Loser: Joe Biden

Biden needed a strong debate performance tonight. Recent polls have shown Biden gaining ground on Trump, but still trailing in some battleground states. Voters have expressed concerns about his age, despite a positive medical report from his physician Kevin O'Conner earlier this year.

However, Biden's performance during the debate drew scrutiny from Republicans and Democrats alike during the debate. His voice sounded hoarse at several points throughout the debate

Joe Biden Campaign Chair 'Bullish' About Taking State Trump Won
"That was painful. I love Joe Biden, I worked for Joe Biden. He did not do well at all. . . . I love that guy. That's a good man. He loves his country. He had a test tonight to restore confidence from his base — he failed to do that," said commentator Van Jones on CNN following the debate.

"Remember, the whole reason Biden wanted this debate was to show a contrast with Trump and to make this a referendum on Trump. Instead, only thing we're talking about is Biden's poor performance," posted Amy Walter, the editor-in-chief of Cook Political Report, to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

"The optics and Biden's performance are so bad and concerning that I fear all substantive policy discussion will be forgotten," posted Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump administration aide who has turned against the former president.

Winner: Donald Trump

Like Biden, Trump also needed a strong debate performance. His standing in the polls has weakened in recent weeks, following a Manhattan jury finding him guilty of falsifying business documents. The conviction has had a minor, yet notable, effect on his polls, as Biden has gained ground.

Trump appeared more alert throughout the debate and largely avoided fueling concerns about his age. Some Democrats noted that he performed stronger than Biden.

"Trump is officially whipping Biden's a** right now..." posted commentator Marc Lamont Hill.

Still, he made several inaccurate claims throughout the night, including that the Biden administration supports abortions "after birth." The Biden administration, nor has the Democratic Party, has not supported post-birth abortions.

LOL, Going by the reactions of democrats, Biden must have been god awful. Frighteningly so apparently. So much so that his own people are in shock. They shouldn't be because it's been clear to the world for ages now how senile he is.

If transcripts are correct, Trump simply lied, after lie, after lie. Such a childish tantrum-throwing dumbass liar, but the ****wits who follow him don't care.

Oh, Trumpists, can you with any speck of intelligence and decency say he didn't lie? After reading what he claimed and then noting the fact checking...yes fact checking, necessary every time Trump opens his gob, you know, the thing that Trumpists hate the most because of how much it exposes this liar buffoon.

The US is a strange place by crikey.

I didn't watch it, from what I've read Biden was pretty bad. Sounds like he had a cold or something.

trump just went on a lie feast

The moderators were useless and didn't call him out on any

All in all, sounds like a train crash

I really shouldn't laugh at this but LOL, the US is ****ed.
Yep a feeble demented old geriatric and an absolute off the wall megalomaniac, the problem for the Democrats is Kamala Harris is almost as bad as Biden just in a different way so if they do replace Biden for America's sake it can't be her. God save America!!!

Even I was shocked at the pure number of lies and projection that Trump got away with.
But also Biden, clearly not in the same universe as Trump's lying because half of Joe's lies are gaffs because he's simply incapable of remembering accurately because of the senility.

The only way the Dems win this one is to oust senile Joe.
