Ousted CNN boss Chris Licht torches old colleagues in scathing speech
usted CNN boss, Chris Licht, has torched legacy media - including his old colleagues - as being untrustworthy in a scathing speech about his former industry.
Licht, 53, was fired from CNN in June 2023 and has yet to reenter the media field after his dramatic removal.
On Tuesday, the former CEO sat down with Yahoo Finance to discuss how he thinks legacy media - which includes CNN, although he did not name the company directly - have lost their way with the American people.
'The facts are that people have lost trust in legacy media,' he told Yahoo Finance anchor Seana Smith.
'That's not me saying that, that's a demonstrable fact that has not happened in the last six months. That is something that's been happening for a long time and people are tuning out.'

Sure we want to live in a country that allows free speech, but should it be allowed in all circumstances?
Do you think people should be able to abuse others on social media without being accountable?
Think it's ok that we have people taking their own lives after being victimised by others on social media?

Threats of violence already get dealt with. You get warnings and then bans if you continue doing it.

I'm not doing anything illegal so I couldn't give a shit what the government know about me.
It's more annoying what business knows about us with the sharing of information with all the pestering messages.
What have you done which makes you so concerned you are being tracked...
Why are you scared of digital ID? I haven't taken any notice of what's brewing with but I want to know why I should be scared of it.

The majority of bullying would occur at school. Plus from my limited knowledge of why someone would take their own life it would be many things that led to that decision. Singling it out to one reason of social media is incorrect is not going to change the numbers taking their life in the slightest. I think you will find that if schools actually taught kids some life skills instead of DEI, trans shows for kids and the myriad of woke rubbish they taught in the education system they would be better able to deal and cope with bullying. The govt should also stay out of the relationship between parent and child. It's up to parents to monitor what their kids are doing online.
Lets be honest here the govt is using this bill to introduce their digital identity and central bank digital currency. We all know we are heading down the CCP path where if you think something which the govt deems to be not in their best interests they could easily switch off their digital currency or limit how a person can use it. The left is very quick to make knee jerk reactions which decrease our freedoms while not adequately dealing with the problem. All the left cares about is power and that's why they are being voted out just about everywhere.
