campaigner should step back.

look i do various exercises in front of the racks. however i take a few steps back to ensure adequate room either side of me for other patrons to stroll by. it comes down to the individual. if the person is considerate and a good person he/she should make room for others

Thanks.

That's being a human being. I have no issue if someone wants to be close, but if someone needs access you always move back, I don't give a flying fck how heavy the person is lifting.

Thanks.

Rack is against the mirror.

I respect the need to use the mirror, but FFS if you need to be that close get a pair heckin' glasses.

I can be upto 5m away and be very comfortable, some people need to be within 1-2m.
Ours is too. Most gyms are that I've been to. No excuse to be that close though. Not many exercises can be done correctly while looking in a mirror (standing only exercises really, or shoulders on a bench)
I think it's an excuse for them to stare at themselves haha

Thanks.

I find it happens a lot with shrugs. Grab the weights. Take them away from the rack and do your shrugs there. You shouldn't be shrugging a weight so heavy that you can't move it away from the rack.

it's also easier on the knees and other joints. for me anyway

I enjoy running but running outside does impact the knees badly. Treadmill reduces that.

In a perfect world I would run on the beach, but time and ruining my sneakers doesn't allow that.

Game set match.

Fck me it's like you are training with me lol. Yes she does this to check herself out she could do those exercises blindfolded and they are light weights too, I'm talking max 5kg. Granted I wouldn't care so much if she was a hottie, but hey if your not you don't get those privileges. Just kidding but I would be biased and a bit more tolerant.

Yesterday, some mofo left a treadmill running. Who the **** does that? I was checking out the hottie on the Cross trainer next to me as I stepped on, so obviously didn't see it running. Took me about 3 or 4 steps to catch my balance. Lucky I'm not a clutz or I would have lost my front teeth.
This happened to my sister, except she wasn't paying attention when she stepped on. She got thrown straight back off.

I don't think that's sight related.
Sounds like those people are vain.

When some one leaves a treadmill running they should be punched no questions asked.

FFS that's just shit.

I'm confident this chick is doing this for the reason you started.

However I am also confident she wouldn't move so I couldn't get access to the Dumbbells. Primarily because she is so selfish that she matters first above everything else and FCK etiquette.

People who take the f*****g clips off the cable machines when swapping handles around. My gym has 3 cable machines with 2 cables each (all in different parts of the gym), yet nearly every time I go to use a free one I have to walk around like a bellend trying to find the handle/piece with the clip still attached!

People talking for more than a minute during their workout, just stfu and lift or move over for someone who will.

Lol

FFS where you at my gym today? This dumb cow sat on the cable seated row for 15 mins chatting, the only reason I didn't have a roid rage was because switching up the program is never a bad thing. However it still shitted me right off.

This is the same cow that sits on one machine and places her possessions on two other machines.

I'm serious jumper punches to the gut should be allowed for fck heads in the gym.

I use the same type of Matrix machines. Anyway I lay an exercise mat/String gym bag/water bottle/ boxing gloves and sometimes seat at the said machine. And always some F**king Dumb F*** always just wonders over and starts using the machine. I may be getting something or alternate with another machine but WTF I have a TON OF STUFF on this machine maybe that means I am F****** using it. It should be mentioned that it always seems to be Females as I have told the a couple of blokes off and its like No probs mate happy to be of service.

You could take a dump and leak on a machine and some campaigner will always try and use it.

I have no problem with temporary hold, but if you walk away for more than 60s I think any machine is fair game. Dont get me started on supersets. Not saying this is you. Just a general comment.

If its a chick I would ask her if she would like to work in with you, good excuse to chat to a chic. Unfortunately some of the chics at my gym are old fuglies. Occasionally I will hit a pot of gold.

On a completely different note - my gym did have a set of scales in the gym itself, seems late last week some campaigner nicked it and took it home!

No replacement as yet. I had been weighing myself daily out of habit, feels a little weird to no be able to do so.

Yep mostly a chick thing, but I ( ALWAYS ) have music on and plugs in the ears so I'm not really up for the chat. Anyway glad for the reply and thanks for the advice.

folks who carry their bag and shit around the gym during their work outs

unfortunately, with sheer laziness and inconsideration so rife these days, no one knows what is in use and what isn't. campaigners leave plates on machines or ezi-bars loaded on the floor all the time now, particularly in 24/7 gyms which can be unstaffed for large periods of the 24hrs. Others will disappear for minutes on end. It's also not uncommon to see dickheads absorbed on their phone just get up and even leave their bottle and towel behind at the last exercise with their main concern just pressing play on the next youtube vid on their screen.

i do week-end work at an independent and the problems there are nowhere near as bad as some of the franchise facilities I've done trial workouts here and there with (and it's one reason why I never end up joining those gym). Our gym has a younger transient membership rolling in and lazy campaigners need to be told to put their shit away, use a towel, don't hog multiple equipment, etc. even with signs around the joint. it takes someone like me, trainers, or other members to get on the floor and embarrass them in front of other members to get them to do it.

The thing I can't get into my head is not putting plates back on plate trees they would have grabbed them from, or a weight belt back into the box where they would have got it from and all the other belts are, or taking a step back to the aerobic room where all the other steps are stacked and they would have grabbed it from. it would take take the same amount of time as it took to get it in the first place. maybe i'm just an anal campaigner, but i also tend to put things back whenever i use them too. and tally up all the extra steps or movement in putting things back, these campaigners may even shift an extra bit of lard, or actually get your body to do something 'functional' like grab a plate from chest/head height and place it at ankle height properly.

when i start a shift on a saturday or sunday, i'm honestly working out more walking around the facility and tidying up the place than every single campaigner who is training. if you ever want to mix up your training/deload/recovery week, just walk into your facility and put shit away. it'll take 20 minutes but you'll still have decent session.

Education is the key. It sounds like my old gym, but we would only go the embarrassment route on people who had been told already about etiquette. Some people are just oblivious to the rules, didn't really like shaming newbies, as it's the last thing they need when they're first trying to get into workouts

The ones we used to publicly call out were the regular dickheads who repeatedly refused to put weights away. Some of the machines they would leave loaded up with 100-200kg worth of plates, some of which were at shoulder height or above. They tended to start picking up after themselves when you pointed out that it could seriously injure someone smaller than them to try and unload that.

Although there was one guy who still ignored it. Federal copper, threatened to bash the PT manager for saying if he didn't cut the shit out he'd lose his membership.

Ha I used to do this at the gym I went to in NE England when I lived there. It was full of Geordie Shore wannabes who, bless them, were that stupid they probably forgot where they had picked up the plates from in the first place.
