Irritating people/things that annoy you in the gym

No hate on stiff leg deadlifts, only on regular ones. So no, not mad. I never do stiff legs, more focus on hammies than back yes?

Definitely hammies more. My reference to back was the strain it causes on it if it is performed poorly ala lifting dead which causes you to bend the back (Unless you have monkey arms), like Whomb was saying.

moved house so waiting for net to get connected so i missed the whole lifting wts up for you thing but really who does, or needs, 1 - 3 rep seated shoulder presses or db bench presses? do them for 6+ reps..if you wanna know you max (why is it important again?) then estimate it

1rm - 100%
2rm - 95 - 97%
3rm - 92 - 95%
4rm - 88 - 92%
5rm - 85 - 88%
6rm - 80 - 85%

Both annoy me. What's wrong with a few calluses?

Seriously dude people wearing gloves annoys you? Maybe the weight they are lifting and your inability to match it is what really annoys you..

What annoys me is macho tossers with attitudes like yours.

A lot of gyms don't like chalk so gloves are next best thing. I bought some liquid chalk and it's great, not as good as normal chalk but it doesnt leave a mess.

I used to wear gloves for deadlift, I used to have farmers walk in my program with deads (on different days) so my hands got a beating through the week. Hands have hardened up since then. They didnt have a choice.

I didn't say people wearing gloves annoys me, I said when people wear gloves when they clearly don't need them, i.e. a super skinny 15 year old.

But thanks brah.

Does the same reasoning apply to Deadlifts kirky?

I generally do 6-8 for the first 4 sets then the last one will generally lift a minimum of 3. Should i be reducing the weight and pushing out to 6 like the other sets?

for every exercise, it's all relative

not sure what your asking pez...do you increase the wt to get the last set of 3 or are you too tired to get 6 like you did on the first sets and you only get 3?

if so then get 4 next week, 5 the next, 6 the next and then increase the wt and go again

or increas the wt each set until you hit a 6 rep max and beat that each week...i'm with this option at the moment but you could do one option x 6 - 8 weeks then the other

To me it is the group of international students at my uni gym. They think they can use 3 apparatus at the same time, including the fixed and free bench presses without getting told off for stopping others to do their workout. They go off mid set to help others in their rest time which equates to 10 minutes and not one to two :(.

It's Deakin Uni and summer. None of the locals are there cause they're either a. on holidays or b. don't bother going. The internationals are there because the $$$ feeder courses to uni are on.

Have some presence about yourself ffs. International students are the most beta dudes, you can steal their parking spot and they won't have the balls to say anything. A good stare will stop them from causing any issues in the gym.

Sorry to sound like a dick but it had to be done.

Scrawny kids that do this when I want to use the cable

Yeah tell me about it, there was a bloke the other day doing this with 5 kgs and attempting to break some sort of world record for number of reps performed within a 5 minute time span  god only knows what he is trying to achieve
