I was introduced to BB only two weeks ago by a very reliable mate of mine.

On Friday the 2nd of December I started on Season 1 Episode 1 and last night finished Season 4 Episode 13. That's 4 seasons of "F#@*ING BRILLIANCE" in 2 weeks!!!
After numerous 7-8 episode marathons at a time, I conclude that Breaking Bad replaces LOST as the greatest TV series I have ever seen.

Cannot wait to see what Walt and Pinkman do next!

Now it is on to The Walking Dead: Season One.........

I'm only young, but I think it's the greatest show I've seen, followed by Sons of Anarchy, Seinfeld, Game of Thrones and Lost, in no order. Homeland is right up there too but will depend on Season 2.

It's very good, but still not quite as good as the best of the best (The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood). Not to mention 'The Wire', which I haven't watched properly yet, but has universal critical acclaim.

Replaces Lost? It shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Lost. Breaking Bad is miles ahead, with one season remaining. This is coming from a former fan of the show, but the way it ended was cringeworthy and has ruined it for me.

Anyway, I digress. It is definitely up there, with The Sopranos, The Wire amd Six Feet Under all very very close.

a great show. but definitely not the best show of all time. the fact that you mentioned lost a possible candidate invalidates your opinion. the wire is better than breaking bad for sure. my favourite of all time is probably curb but as for the best of all time i guess i probably haven't watched enough of Seinfeld or mash to give a definitive answer.

Very surprised at bigfooty's love for the wire which is easily the greatest tv show of all time.

Breaking bad would be in my top5 though.

The Wire is the best show of all time, Breaking Bad is pretty close though.

I'd also add, in no particular order, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, BSG and I love Mad Men. Haven't see Deadwood, but will dive into it over summer.

Let's wait 'til Breaking Bad has completed before bringing out the GOAT tags. And even then give it some time to soak in and reflect.

So far, it's clearly top 5-10 show, but who knows what's going to happen in the final season. Many shows have been hurt (Entourage) or enhanced (The Shield) quite a bit by their final seasons.

Personally, Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman will go down as one of the most memorable performances ever for me. I just love the way his character has evolved (and devolved).

Agreed, Breaking Bad make's Lost look like a B grade soap.

I wouldn't even say it was the best show of this year, nevermind of all time. Boardwalk Empire and Boss ahead of it this season for me.

See, it's funny, Boardwalk Empire leaves me cold. I can appreciate its acting, its production values, just about everything about it, but I find it a little mechanical and soulless. It doesn't grab me in the same way some of these other shows do.

Respect and appreciate everyones opinion of LOST, but how many actually watched EVERY episode in order and not "lost" interest during the 3rd season when most people dropped away? Not me. I watched and oved EVERY episode.

Everyones entitled to their opinion, and I am a HUGE Lost fan!

Agree that Seinfeld and M*A*S*H are right up there, but IMO The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire and The Wire blow ass.

Just watched Ep1 of "Luck" with Dustin Hoffman tonight and thats pretty good too, but nowhere near in the same class as BB.

Disagree with the post about the ending of S4 being disappointing though. What a great set up for S5!

What does Hank do next? Is Mike dead? Will Walt and Jesse head to Mexico? And what ever happend to the video Walt made in the desert at the very beginning of S1?
