Let's have a look at it.

Half Forward: Buckley, Rocca, Fraser
Full Forward: T Cloke, Tarrant, Caracella

Part time forwards: Rusling, Didak, L Davis, B Holland, Egan.

That's a pretty awesome forward line and there are not too many defences in the league that could contain all of them. If that forward line stays together, expect a big year from the Pies. It's a perfect mix of talls, mediums and smalls with both pace and bulk.
Add in a Kennedy or a Ryder from the draft, and a quality midfieldier to help with supply and Collingwood are looking pretty good.

i dont know about best in the league, but yeah, it certainly looks pretty good, assuming caracella isnt slowing down yet, tarrant and fraser can find some form and rocca stays on the park

the backline looks good too. its just the midfield where they have real issues with class, depth and speed

well if tarrant went to training or cared about how he played, buckley doesnt do his hammy game after game, rocca stays fit. cloke improves, fraser plays forward instead of ruck and carracella plays like he did this year then you might just have a case to argue to be the 5th best in the league

Tarrant averages less than 2 goals per game, Rocca is coming off an extremely serious achilles tendon injury (players rarely regain full capacity after this injury), Didak's health is questionable, Buckley, like Hird and Kouta, has only one season left in him and neon Leon has yet to demonstrate that he can regularly kick goals. That leaves Caracella, a still very raw Cloke and Fraser, who you would assume should be developing into the team's number one ruckman. Doesn't look so good after all.

On paper we look to have some firepower but none of them players has kicked 60 + goals in a year and our forward line hasn't kicked the most points in the league since since who knows when

I hope they all get to play long periods together though, Rocca AND Tarrant is vitally important to our chances, Buckley is a absolute champion, Travis needs some guidance and support as does Rusling and Egan and hopefully Didak and Fraser can contribute some goals here and there when not in the midfield

If we remain fit next year I think our backline and forward line should do well, but midfield is the worry

totally awesome and unstoppable.

Our defense doesn't sleep thinking about them.

hey, whats the deal with putting your best midfielder and starting ruckman into the forward line only when posting on a "look at our great forward line" thread

can someone post collingwoods midfield without buckley and fraser? methinks it might look a bit sick

what havent you heard of midlfielders and ruckmen resting in the forward line

buckleys old and wont play much in teh midfield

fraser is the worst ruckman in the league and so will probably be left up forward

There is no doubt that the Swanies have the best forward line going around. There would be another 2 or 3 teams after them that would still have a better foward line than the Pies.

oh iv heard of it, i just object to it being used in a "look how great our forward line is" as first forwards

if thats allowed, check out the west coast forward line

matera gardiner cox
cousins hansen judd

wow, 5 AAs and 2 brownlows. best in the league by far

i think ideally the pies would like bucks to be somewhat of a permenent forward, but he's most likely going to be over the hamstring problems and his body is still in good condition so you'll probably find him spending more than just a little bit of time in the midfield...
for me i think the saints and the swannies have the best forward lines in the comp. Swannies in 2005 were blessed with no injuries...

Wouldn't mind another genuine tall, big bad is our Rocca and Goodes is our Fraser but we dont really have a Tarrant, but Nick Davis is better than Didak and Caracella, either forwardline is dangerous on their day, but delivery to Collingwoods forwards is atrocious so they will always be hamstrung

Collingwood are miles off. It's certainly a good list of palyers, but most of which are notorious for breaking down to injury. It also doesn't imply functionality.

Sydney and St.Kilda have the best forward-lines at the moment. Saints were at their best in 04 with Riewoldt playing out of his skin at CHF. Sydney seem to have very good structure and versatility.

If all those players are fit, firing, and actually playing in the forward-line, they may make a case for fourth behind Essendon.

If you offered me Collingwoods forwardline or Essendons it wouldn't even be a contest, Travis Cloke held down CHF in his first year, with Fraser, Rocca and Tarrant thats 4 quality tall forwards, with class crumbers like Didak and Caracella and a host of kids like Rusling and Egan on the rise... Essendon had a forwardline a few years back but its rubbish now
