Probably answered your own question. Indigenous people make up a small minority of the population so there is probably a limited target market for the sort of indigenous comedy you see on ABC/NITV. But then we have had plenty of ethnic comedians doing ethnic jokes so it's not like it's a WASP's game. I've seen a few indigenous stand ups take the piss out of their own people and I don't know what the appetite is among the woke for that. If a black person makes fun of black people and black people laugh, as a white person it must be racist if I laugh. Etc.

I think he is Malaysian. But he grew up in multiple places and works here and in the US so is a citizen of the world really. Married an Australian so probably lives here now.

Pretty sure he lives in the us

Tim Minchin....that’s another one of these super woke, pseudo intellectual, pretentious campaigners the ABC seems to churn out like sausages.

Would that be the same Tim Minchin who once joked about Magic Happens bumper stickers with reference to adding "so does cot death" with a permanent marker?

Yes he is a militant atheist. That’s what he is saying with that.

But also seems like the sort of guy who would likely describe himself as a ‘male feminist’ (always a red flag) and who you would see slagging off how ‘horribly racist and colonial and patriarchal’ Australia is from London in Guardian op-Ed’s etc

If Gadsby ever did a one women musical of her life, Tim would compose the soundtrack. Classical far left, ABC luvvies.

Edit - See exhibit a.

So he's not a campaigner to other people. The bastard!

I don't know if he's good enough at either but he's a great musical comedian. Not sure I'd go and see him to stand up for an hour or two and I've never been to see any concert pianist perform.

Can you actually imagine going to see him live?

If you wanted two hours of being harangued about climate change, changing the date, and white guilt, you could just tune into the ABC and save yourself some money.

Not sure how you measure it but comedy would appear to be much more popular than ever, with Youtube and podcasts along with live shows, so many avenues. Also there's probably a silent majority who appreciates "anti-woke" comedy and a huge market for it I'd reckon, right wing comedy is the new shock comedy.
