Clueless. The switch play was a decent move 10 years ago. The big hype was always the new game plan. Leppas game plan, and only bringing in A graders. Watch what happens this year, C grade talent whilst letting club champions leave. It's a ******* joke.

Considering the unusual timing of this bump, I can only assume you're Ross Lyon and setting yourself up for a new job. Welcome Ross!

Could any coach have salvaged this season for us?

Our list is looking awesome, we've got some great academy kids here and coming through in the very near future.

Our midfield when fit is 100% elite.

An extra mature body either end has us competing in most games whilst the young kids develop more.

I'm really looking forward to next season. I think we'll end up around 8th-12th if we have a good one.

We really are looking like we could be back to being a finals threat in a few years playing the brand of footy we showed against the dogs.

Our ladder position hasn't done leppa any favors and he is obviously better "as a coach" then what our ladder position suggests. However, he is the Brendan Mccartney of our club. Good for development, but like the western bulldogs, we won't be winning any finals under leppa and he defiantly won't be wining us any grand finals.

In short, Leppa will do a pretty good job at bringing in some talent and a decent job with our on-field performance. But once 2017 rolls, he will be replaced by a better option and we will all just move on.

Is there any other man who'd even take the job on?

Doesn't exactly fill us with confidence when that very well could be the case.

I also think we don't need to pick up any fringe player from another club just because they want to come here.

Would definitely look at Lyon when he leaves Fremantle and would time perfectly with our list when we challenge in a few years. Rattan still on the top of my want list along with McCartney. All of this of course is if Leppa is sacked, not calling for his head just yet.
I would've loved Bomber Thompson to be coaching us. Was that ever a possibility?

I think in at least some of these cases, they want to come here because we identified, scouted and approached them.

I reckon Paul Roo's could have. The only reason we sacked Vossy is because we could get Roo, but that didn't happen and then Matthews, Sharpton ended up overthrowing the board, hence Leppa got appointed.

I'm not sure how our list looks awesome. We finished 17 last on the ladder, have 4 quality players leaving our club, the club applied for a priority pick based on the reason that we will have 2 players selected in the first round on our list by end of the season and Keayes and Hipwood are unproven. Sure Keayes and Hipwood are talented, but we can't put any expectations on them yet.

Our list is at least 3-4 years away from being competitive to play finals. That's assuming that we don't have any more of our experienced and young players leave the club, in search for better opportunities.

I seriously don't get the Bomber Thompson attraction from some people. It is clear from his media appearances that he has lost his marbles.
I reckon he would be perfect for us. I would be offering Lyon big money, but if we can't get him then Thompson has a good record on field and someone who can unit our playing group.

Best post yet.
From Sharpton & Matthews overthrowing the board, and Roos being able to salvage the season that was, pure gold.:thumbsu:

Gee I'm glad you aren't making decisions for our club.
