Is Monty contracted for next year?

I presumed that Montgomery would have just signed a one year deal when he joined the club. I've heard nothing about a new contract.

Did he sign a two year deal when we drafted him? If not, does anyone know what the current position is?

Did he? That's interesting, given his age and that Port thought him surplus to requirements. Not many clubs would take that kind of risk.

Not that I'm complaining, if his body holds he may be more than useful again in 2007.

Especially since he played "xx" amount of games at Port?

Monty will need to play another 23 games for his kids to qualify for the F/S with the Bulldogs...he has currently played 77 games with us. So he would have to play every game next season, plus one final.

I agree. Monty's hardness and experience was crucial against the Pies, and he'll again be an important player this year. Ease him through the season with Granty.

Monty was a guest at TopDogs just before the end of the season and didn't know what 2007 offered. He was hoping that the fact so many were comming back from injury would work in his favour for one more year. His finals performance resolved the doubt. IMHO he'll be a required player.
